Yes! I don't see a reason why it wouldn't, the interface will look a lot different, but all in all you should be able to achieve the same result by using same technique I was showing in the video :)
Maybe I'm doing something wrong. The moment I connect the blue dot on the node to the Added Alpha Output, the masked rectangle is visible, but the rest of the video goes black. Oh hang on - I just realised why after seeing another similar tutorial! I didn't make extra copies of the clip on additional layers. So when it was masked out, we only saw the blank background! Sorry, was just too impatient forwarding the video to get to the main instructions I didn't pay careful attention to the start where you say to make several copies of the layer!
Same thing happened to me before I realised that I had skipped the instructions at the start of the video to duplicate the clip on two or more layers. If you don't, you will just see a black background below your mask!
Oh yeah it's a bit fast... 😅 The Position should be all the way up (you might have to scroll up) in the Transform tab below Zoom and Rotation Angle ! And if the whole tab is missing on the right you might have to press the Inspector button at the top right. Hope It helped !
Did you use the alpha mask? Seems like that is missing, you have to right click (in the color nodes) and enable alpha output, then plug the blue output of the mask node into the blue alpha output. Hope that fixed the problem 😊

is it possible with after effects?

When I do it only the mask is showing and the rest of the screen becomes black.
