59:58 "you can do whatever the hell you feel like if you have liberties"
Is that why they call them "liberties"? (mind blown)

this is a precursor for "Andrew reviews Shusaku"

In general having two weak groups is a bad idea, and Nick had four. :) Add in Andrew's Jedi mind-tricks, and it was a fun game to watch. I suggest one of you post again when you figure out where it all went wrong. Thanks.

"Before I resign, I should do one last thing" what else could be done in this gong show?

first half of this game looks like one of my 20kyu games where no group is alive ever. This is pretty exciting, to be honest, to see dan players goofing off like this. Not sure if this one is helping me learn anything, just reinforcing my bad habits, but it's certainly entertaining!

Blue skies and following winds? Did you mean Fair winds and following seas, a common farewell in naval vernacular?

I wish I was as "Kind of Meh" at Go as Andrew Jackson is.

White was able to live in the bottom because Andrew took Black's stone off the board that connected Black's stones at ~1:19:20 to show why White wanted that spot so White got two moves in a row in addition to Black not being connected and having those extra liberties.

Just found out that Google has created an algorithm that beat the European go Champion 5-0! They're organising a game with Lee Sedol later this year.

Nice game, thanks for recording and uploading. One question: is the dual 3-4 unusual for then deciding to fight super early like that? Would it have been more canonical to open with dual 4-4s if you wanted to chase him around all game, or am I misunderstanding this? Thanks!

Yeah...3-4's don't necessarily support the type of game we had very well. But my games with Andrew are usually just crazy even if I try to play patient and reasonable at the start.

Nick, when you played 9 - 十五 (at about 1:05:00) could you not have just played 9 - 十四 to kill the 6 stone white group outright? I am only 15kyu, so I guess I'm missing something important and strategic, but I can't see how white kills any of the 4-6 groups used to surround it :/

Would the cut at 15,10 work after white hane'd at 16,10?
