Kenny, thank you for sharing this! I wish someone would post a video of the player introductions at that game. Gene Banks and the rose presentation was classic! I was not surprised that it was Packer yelling, "Wait a minute! Wait a minute!" I do miss Thacker. I went to games as a child and sat just below the crow's nest. I remember Thacker was always so friendly and Packer was a putz even then.
Oh, yes, that sounds like Packer and Thacker with the call. I was only 10 but I remember this day clearly. I also remember Gene placing roses at each corner of the court. Kenny, thank you for posting this and thank you for all that you have done and continue to do for the Duke community. I quite literally cut my teeth while watching Duke basketball & my big brother was a student manager from '75-'77. I will always love the Blue Devils and want GTHC chanted at my funeral. Go Duke!
