  • For my viewer MMorganGreen, I got your comment when I already skied at Pal so perhaps the next time I ski at Pal I will try my best to indicate all names of the run for you.
I would like to add that Andorran resorts are very crowded with Spanish skiers as there is a massive lack of snow in Spanish resorts so they are all here, buses and buses coming in Andorra everyday. The limited numbers of slopes open is jammed with skiers, so I'm very careful picking where to ski or not skiing at all as not all slopes are open so it could be dangerous on the slopes.
This video took me a lot of time as I had to read and gather a lot of information concerning the snow conditions in European ski resorts, plus I look at 5 weather apps to monitor daily if not hourly the changes in weather if there are any snowfalls coming in Andorran slopes especially Arinsal.
This weather is abnormal for the month of January and it's annoyingly sad, let us pray for some good dumps of snow please hold hands and pray together...cross your fingers, arms and legs...

Thanks a lot for this video! I'll be traveling to Andorra Saturday with my family (wife + 6yo and 8yo kids) for skiing for the first time. We will stay in La Massana (1 week), but planning to planning to visit the resort with best snow conditions. For beginners, any advice due current snow conditions? Initially we planned Pal-Arinsal, but looking in the webcams, Ordino-Arcalís looks better...
PS: would you mind in recommending the ski instructor mentioned in the video?
    Thanks again!

      @RodrigoMenardi My pleasure and thanks
If you are staying in La Massana then Pal ski school is good and convenient for you and your family to go up to Pal in the gondola.
You are right Arcalís has been the star resort this year as it’s up high and it’s colder up at Arcalís, good snow but the beginner’s area is new and very small. There are more beginner’s slopes at Pal than at Arcalís but you can just stay at Pal and then try the slopes at Arcalís, they are a bit steeper. The snow conditions are good at the beginner’s areas, they make it nice for beginners to practice up at Pal.
Another place y’all could go one day is to go up to Montmagic in Canillo, big ski school with rollercoaster, good place for the whole family to enjoy together.
In reference to the ski instructor in question, he doesn’t work for any Andorran ski schools, he’s retired now and just a friend.
Have a good trip tomorrow, good luck with your ski lessons and enjoy your stay in Andorra.

Thanks for the honest video. What do you think of Grandvalira for mid February - still Ice and fake snow?

    •  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Two week forecast shows nothing until 8 Feb. Better check end of next week.
Low snow is also bad for the summer, as that will mean less water in the dams and rivers. So we are hoping for a lot of snow not just for recreational purposes.

@ yea this is what I’ve read. I got one day left to cancel my plans so better not risk coming. 2 years of bad snow so appreciate your dams may be suffering.

With this hot weather during the day and no snowfall scheduled for the next 10 days, skiers may have to ski on manmade snow but the trick is to go a bit later in the day when the slopes are softened up.

By switching around between Arinsal , Pal , Arcalis and Grandvalira there’s still plenty of good skiing. Just be careful you don’t jump out of the frying pan into the fire as far as truthful reports are required for other countries Personally I would say that Grandvalira is still ok it’s just busy because there’s little anywhere else in Spain and France (Pyrenees ) so school trips seem to particularly making Grau Roig and Pas very busy. Also just bear in mind no Spanish group will be on the piste before 11 .

@@halalfood6435 Haha nice metaphor!! Also good info re the schools. All the reports about El Niño bringing us endless snow this year hasn’t quite lived up to the hype and didn’t know Spain was also suffering. Seems like only East Europe is winning this year’s snow drops.
