- Shopping for Tonsil Surgery. We spend the day preparing for Parker's upcoming tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. He gets bloodwork done to make sure his body can handle the surgery and then he goes on a special shopping trip with mommy and FILLS THE CART! We are working hard to encourage Parker to continue his positive outlook before his surgery. We get popsicles, Jell-o, and all sorts of treats to pamper Parker as he recovers. Parker is so brave, he is so strong and it is amazing to see his carefree attitude and his amazing personality not be blocked by his tonsils and the issues they cause him. I love this family for they are strong and beautiful and such lovely kind people. This is one of my favourite parts of Christmas xx

PIneapple has Bromelain in it... its an enzyme used for medicine to reducing swelling (inflammation), especially of the nose and sinuses, after surgery or injury :) (doc probably wants to wait a little bit though because its acidic. but once the wounds arent quite so fresh ..should be perfect!)

The last shot of all the kids watching Baliey's slideshow was so sweet! The bond all the siblings have is so special, it's really heartwarming to see.

Have you thought of Parker becoming a child actor? He's so entertaining.
I think he would do very well.
My son had dairy and no issues. But do what you feel most comfortable with doing. Listen to your gut! My dr said dairy was fine that’s why we allowed it. He ate Mac and cheese the night after his surgery. He wanted it and gobbled it!
My Doctor said dairy was fine but I tried it and it made my stomach hurt and it made me throw up because dairy makes you have more mucus so when after you get the surgery you’ll have to swallow it because it hurts to blow your nose and if you swallow a ton of mucus then you throw up

Em Regs you may be lactose sensitive or intolerant I know I am
I don’t think it would cause issues per say, but it definitely does not help the healing process. I am not lactose intolerant but dairy does cause excess mucus in my body. Then again every body reacts differently. If you can stay away from it I would :)
You guys have been my favorite family for so long but I never comment that often I don`t know why. I am shy in real life but I don`t know why I am shy about posting a comment. I realized though I should start posting comments because even though everyone says this about you guys I have to say it to. You guys are absolutely amazing. I am going into Elementary Education and seeing how you handle the kids is really helpful. As someone who has encountered not the best parents and therefore not great children, I want to thank you for raising great children. Keep up the amazing work! Love you guys! I had this surgeryat Parker's age: he is such a brave and positive young person! I think I was nowhere near this brave, blood tests still scare me. I pray for a quick recovery for him!!!

I feel like not too many people comment about Jacob. But the kindness that flows out of that kid is AMAZING. (26 year old mom here with 2 boys) You can tell he cares so deeply for his siblings.

I think people are saying no dairy because it causes phlegm and the coughing could pop his stitches.

Forgotten Wolf it does cause phlegm and mucus. From my doctor literally when I had mine out said the same thing.
Forgotten Wolf it depends on the person, dairy would always give me phlegm that’s why I got my tonsils out, but it still happened and now I, allergic to dairy.

Lydia Salty's Drawings getting your tonsils removed is one of the safest surgery’s. Children Duncan’s age get this and are completely fine! He has no need to worry!
Bailey - When your bracelet is completed are you going to leave the charms in the order you got them or will you mix them up however you desire?
Jacob - I think the 19 is the one on the bottom row of the calendar! It looks like the 9 is off center a little, like maybe there was a 1 next to it to begin with.
Parker - Wow you are so brave! And you're right, shots don't hurt! You're going to feel so much better after your surgery. I just wanna say how brave he is for going through this. When I got my tonsils out I missed two weeks of school and they were the worst weeks of my life. But Parker is being so calm and not freaking out like I did!!! Good job kiddo👏👏👏

I definitely am inspired by Parker. I’m 18, and I still am scared of shots. He reminded me that shots aren’t so scary and not worth avoiding! Every day every single one of these kids remind me something I needed to hear. I love y’all’s family!!

Parker is a brave, strong and comical young man. I have to say that he had me laughing when he was like “let’s get these tonsils outta here”. He’s braver than me half the time when it comes to needles and I am 38 yrs old. Please tell Parker that he’s braver than a 38 year old when it comes to needles and I think he is super cool for that.
You could make your own ice pops using flavoured/coconut water which will be kinda healthy and super fun 😊

I have a special connection to this channel; last year, I was homebound for about 7 months due to to different autoimmune diseases I have that were very severe. This channel was one of the ones I watched everyday. I loved the ones where jessica was in the last few days of her pregnancy! I looked forward to being updated everyday to see if Duncan has arrived yet. Anyway, thanks for keeping me company during that time❤️❤️

I’ve been noticing Parker’s undereyes & it reminds me *SO* much of my so Clarke’s eyes before we had his tonsils & adenoids taken out. You will probably be amazed by how much better he is able to sleep when he doesn’t have the swollen tonsils/adenoids. Good luck, Parker & Ballinger family!

Mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, creamy soups...you can get tired of sweets. I would suggest avoiding pineapple because it is so acidic... He will be good to go long before he finishes all the food in that cart!!!
It's less about the eating during the recovery- though it does make the throat feel better- and more about exciting him and rewarding him for being so brave and going through surgery. He's so young, and the parents don't want him to be scared. Giving him sweets (that he will probably share with his siblings) makes him see this in a positive light.

I just had mine taken out today but I am an adult. I plan on recovering the first next couple weeks watching my favorite family on TH-cam, The Ballingers. You guys always make me happy and feel better! Parker you will do amazing. You are so very brave to do the pre surgical testing and getting yourself ready for your tonsillectomy. I will be thinking if you and I wish you the best! I love that you and I will be recovering at the same time.

My mom would make scrambled eggs for me that were very small and she would add whey protein to it since after a couple of days it hurts to eat
