Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! One discord user one night decided to allegedly use their top-secret clearance to gather classified intelligence documents from the Pentagon just to impress their friends over the Internet. What follows after is some serious life-ruination and it all leads to just one person to blame. Thanks for watching!

@@hankschrader5507 LOL true. It's amazing how often robust systems depend on the weakest link. The Panama Papers and numerous other such leaks come to mind. The most powerful organizations, including law firms, depending on some low-level, lowly paid secretary or data entry person to keep secrets, when governments around the world will pay you a handsome "whistleblower" and/or "spy" fee for handing over the secrets.

I was a political activist in the 90s and while my country is tiny we've had a few espionage shenanigans go down here. Two friends of mine experienced this first hand when they arrived home one day to find police officers and agents from our government's internal spy agency in the middle of executing a search warrant. They tore the house apart, broke some stuff including the front door and took every computor in the house. We never found out exactly what they were looking for because my two friends were victms of mistaken identity and police incompetance. All we ever learned was that it involved sensitive documents and that investigators were convinced a political activist group was somehow involved. But there is a happy ending, because my friends were successfully able to sue the government for damages and recieved a pretty nice settlement out of it.

If you were there when the leaks were occurring or in a closed group where the leaks have occurred, the government/law enforcement agency have a good reason to securitize who you are. If you are some random dude who found the document on a newsite or wikileak, the government/law enforcement agency don't care because the genie is already outside the bottle.

Worse yet, they all wonder why a young man would have access to this. Failing to remember that the age of enlistment is 17 years of age. He's 21 years old, he joined in 2019. Straight out of high-school, like most of the armed forces. And most with a clearance that either gets you digital, or straight up physical access to these documents.

I'm a member in one of the servers involved in the leak (wow_mao) and i was pretty active in the EXACT channel where it was leaked which was a channel dedicated to geopolitical discussion
honestly, it was funny to see such a niche community get international attention for something so goofy and unlikely to happen.. the community itself refused to believe it was actually real when the mod reposted the leaked stuff, so it was mostly ignored, which explains how this only came to light a MONTH later.
The server itself doubled in a mere 3 days from about 4k members to a whopping 9k (and counting) and wow_mao has gained a TON of new patreons which as he said in the video, any publicity is good publicity as long as he dosen't get arrested.

Funny thing is depending on if the person was activated they could still be tried under the UCMJ. That is even if they are punished or acquitted in the federal court. This is one of the rare instances where someone can be tried under double jeopardy. And that is because if he's not being tried in the military court and in the civilian court instead the military court can still put them under trial.
