Im about to rebuild an ABC pump to keep as spare for my CL500 ! your spring info is very useful too as I suspect mine are the cause of some issues with valves internally !
This ABC pump works on 3000psi for the hydraulic fluid (Pentosin CHF-11S) and pumps the fluid thru 2 blocks and 3 accumulators(on my 2009 SL550) This ABC pump is very intricate. I would have bought a new one(not refurbished) from FCP Euro. Let us know when finished and how it works after a month once finished. Let us know.
I appreciate your concern. I did a lot of research on this system before diving in. The pump itself is not as intricate as one might think. This video is for anyone who wants to do their own work and not pay a ton for a new pump. There are only a few things inside that can go bad, all of which is covered. If new is in the budget I’m with you 100% but personally I’d rather learn more, take a little more time and save a bunch of cash. This pump is now in good working order and I was able to finally lift the car.
@@christianwatson7703 - out of curiosity, did you run out of fluid for the pump to go bad? That's usually the case btw I know you have to flush the fluid and change the reservoir filter every 30k miles as a routine maintenance.
@@jgonzalesm6 I bought the car with the pump already shot. He kept adding fluid but at that point it was already shot. I can only imagine it was bad for some time considering how bad the springs were in it.
Seems to be operational I'd say it's a success, have a few other issues preventing me from completing the car but no leaks. Take your time and it's not a bad repair at all. Any particular forums you're in?
Hello Chris and thanks for your video, very interesting for me, I am in the same about to rebuild my pump but unfortunatelly when I take off the 7 screws of the pistons I notice that 3 of them were broken with part of them still in the thread. I am crazy trying to find these screws wit no luck. Any idea about where could I find replacement for this? Thanks again Chris and congrats for this great content!
Thank you for the video, my ABC pump appears to be working but is making a horrible knocking noise. Just wondering if your experiences here have taught you anything that could be causing that for me?
Would you please send me rebuilding kit Adress so I can buy it. Thanking you in advace. My ABC suspension pump is leaking and it hard to me to find from it is keaking
you're a national treasure for documenting this process.. thank you greatly
Thank you for taking your time to share this with us
Anytime!
The "secondary washer" is usually referred to as a "teflon seal" by most people.

@@wstreff correct.
They are all refurbished.
Could probably find all the o-rings at McFadden's Industrial Hardware for a few dollars.
Pls give us an update or post on one of the forums if you don’t mind.

Do you have a part # for McMaster-Carr? I found 2022N164 but the dimensions are slightly different from what you listed.
I also found 9434K71

The pressure accumulators are likely the source of the noise.
Do you have a part number on the springs used. Im about to tackle this on my SL55 and want to have any misc parts on deck before I take it apart.
Hello, nice video, but what about result?
Would this work on a w221 abc pump or is pump different?
Any updates on your rebuild??
Myślałem że w środku są jakieś łożyska? Moja pracuje, ale głośno hałasuje, co może być przyczyną?
Did the rebuild work?
Hi Chris, how much do you charge to rebuild my abc tandem pump?
Do you have an update on the pump after it's installed?
