What did people wear in the 1980s
London had produced a revolution in Punk but as the 1980s started, a new rebellion was needed to change the face of British youth Culture. It came in the form of a fantasy world inspired by David Bowie, Historical Costume and European Electro Punk.
Let me intoduce you to the main characters of the 1980s Blitz kids
Steve Strange
Rusty Eagan
Boy George
And
Marylin
Teenagers who dressed up and customised their outfits to the extreme inspired by film noir, pirates and dandys fighting for a mans right to be pretty.
These four personalities (Steve Strange, Rusty Eagan, Boy George and Marylin) came together as part of the new romantic night club scene and The Blitz club became the most exclusive nightclub in London.
