    James, thank you for your transparency. It's so good to see a video along with the list of Mods. I am in the process of converting my 2006 Softail Heritage into a Bobber, but with a 21 inch front wheel and stock rear wheel (16 inch). This video made me see exactly how this combination would look like in reality. Thanks and greetings from Cologne, Germany.

    This is by far one of the best looking street bobs I have seen so far. Could you please post a parts list of everything you have done as far as your front wheel? Brand, fender, hub, etc...

    • @jameswarren86
      @jameswarren86  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man! So the front and rear wheels are aftermarket sizes to accommodate the tires. The front wheel is a standard 21x2.15 rim that's been powder coated black. The rear wheel is a 16x5 rim that's been powder coated black as well. Both were picked up on eBay by a seller named chassiswerx.
      The spokes are standard sportster spokes for 21" and 16" wheels. The hub's are actually the stock hubs that came with the bike, as I have just laced the new rims to the stock hubs.
      Both of the fenders are the stock fenders that came with the bike. I did not need to make any modifications as they fit just fine with the new wheels.
      Hope this helps?

    • @jameswarren86
      @jameswarren86  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is an older video of this bike, so in this video the bike had only the rear end lowered with 10.5" Burly Slammers. I can't remember the exact model names of the tires, but the rear was a (Shinko 777) 180 and the front was also a (Shinko 777) 21" tire.
      But, if you check out my newest video of the bike (th-cam.com/video/Xl3vpUQE7B4/w-d-xo.html), I've got the the rear end lowered with 10.5" Burly Slammers as well as dropped another 1" with lowering blocks, and front end has been lowered by 2" with a Progressive Suspension Drop-in Fork Lowering Kit. I now run Avon Cobra tires with a 180 Rear Tire (AV72 Cobra 180/70R16) and 21" Front White Wall Tire (AV71 Cobra MH90-21).

    James, I am sorry to keep bothering you with questions but I am curious as to what you did with you rear turn signal setup as far as the wiring goes. I just threw a burley slammer kit on mine a few weeks ago. I have already had to remove the fender three times now to repair wiring from the tire bouncing up and hitting it. it has caused a multitude of problems. At first it shorted out the system causing my fuel gauge to quit working and as of yesterday I have no rear lights at all. The shocks are set on the hardest setting and my wires are run on the sides of the fender (inside). I also cut a very sturdy piece of fuel hose and ran the wires through it where they go through the fender under the seat so they would have some sort of protective sleeve around them and not contact the metal of the fender. I am only 150lbs so I know my light ass isn't the problem. Could you please tell what you did with yours or if you have even had the same issue at all....

    • @jameswarren86
      @jameswarren86  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey no worries, I am more than happy to help!
      I actually did not need to make any changes to my wiring in the rear. I fortunately have not had any issues with the wiring at all, and my lights are stock. Do keep in mind that I am running a 16x5 rear tire rather than the stock 17" wheel. I wonder if my specific Slammers don't compress enough to touch my fender wiring. I also do have a pretty big gap between my rear fender and tire that may be playing a role here as well.

Sorry for all the questions but it is realy difficult To find those tires in belgium ,i have to look for avon cobra in ww more easy aviable but not the same size whit White wall. Is your front rim a Wide glide rim in 21x2.15 ?

      @jameswarren86  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      So my front tire is an MH90-21 and the rear tire is a 180/70R-16. The rims/wheels are custom sizes outside of the stock size as well. The front rim is the same size as a wide glide rim (21x2.15) but it is not a wide glide rim. And the rear rim is a 16x5. Each rim is a custom rim that I laced to my stock hubs.

    That's one of the cleanest looking bobbers I've seen, man. Great job! Couple of questions; what size spokes did you use when you re-laced your front and rear conversions, and did you cut the wires on your front turn signals? And, one more question, (sorry), do you ever ride two-up? How's that as far as comfort with the Burly's? Again, sweet bobber, man!

    • @portroyal91191
      @portroyal91191 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      tako904 hey I have a 2016 street Bob. to take the signals off you have to cut the wire. Now it's up to you if you want to pull the entire wire out of the handlebars and pull the pin out of the connector. I didn't, main reason is because that wire is inside a casing for the rest of the wiring and I didnt feel like cutting it apart. so I chopped it off, put some heat shrink on it and she works fine.

    • @jameswarren86
      @jameswarren86  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I used standard sportster spokes in 21" for the front and 16" in the rear. I did not have to cut the wires on my lights as the lights connect to a harness under the tank that can just be unhooked. I do ride two up quite a bit, and its not any different on comfort than riding solo.

    Personally id move the forks up a bit to lower the front of the bike, might have to get bar risers to get clearance for the bars but i believe that would work, but thats just my preference

    how many spokes are your wheels??? also the hoop don't matter??? and your triple tree's there a narrow gilde set up???

    • @jameswarren86
      @jameswarren86  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know the spoke numbers off of the top of my head, but it should be the same number as the stock hoops as I did lace these custom hoops to the stock hubs that came with the bike. So the custom hoops are the same amount of spokes as the stock hoops. Also I believe the triple tree's are mid glide. It is the stock front end that comes with the bike from the manufacturer.

      im curious im going to be getting a street bob early next year and planning to buy some parts soon, but im curious to add to this, the stock wheel is 17 inch with a 170 tire, im curious why you changed to a smaller back tire and a slightly wider? purely for the slammed lower look? thanks man!!

    • @jameswarren86
      @jameswarren86  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the stock rear tire was a 17" in 160. I wanted to go wider to fill in the fender so 180 or 200 was my best option. But I could only find a 180 white wall tire in 16". Since I was also doing the 21" front wheel conversion I just laced up a 16" rear to my stock hub and put on the 180 White Wall rear tire to match my front tire. It worked out well because it helped lower the rear even more than previously.

    Damn nice bike, but I am biased because I have a 2015 Street Bob myself. I am wondering what you did with your front turn signals? • @jameswarren86
      @jameswarren86  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man! I did have them mounted on the forks for a bit and dig not like how big they were. In this video they had been removed completely. I ran the bike with no front turn signals for quite a while, and didnt have any issues as my model year has the updated CANBUS that kept my rear signals from tripping. You do notice your dash blinking quickly, but that was something I grew to ignore.
      But I did recently pickup a set of very small LED signals that mount to the hand controls and am now using these. They are pretty much flush with my hand controls and you barley notice them until you turn on the signals.
