    T track roof rack systems from companies like Prinsu Designs, Front Runner, Thule and others are a great way to store off road gear on your roof but specialty t track mounts can be expensive. In this video, the TX GX uses common stainless steel hardware to easily and cheaply mount vehicle recovery traction boards like MaxTrax, X-Bull and Maxsa to the roof rack rails. The solution takes minutes to install, loads and unloads your recovery boards in seconds, and keeps your boards secure while overlanding or offroading.

    Quick and easy. I use 4 bolts, 8 washers, 4 nuts, and 4 plastic knobs

    Thanks for a great video! I think your solution has got to be the most simple one I've seen, as well as cost effective! Thank you!

    This was the exact video I was looking for to the questions I had. Just purchased these same boards with prinsu rack. Thank you so much! Subscribed

    Thank you for this! I have the XBull boards as well and the pre drilled holes are too big for larger bolts. Didn’t want to spend money on a gear plate. This method worked like a charm. Also, in case anyone is wondering if you still have a little play after tightening the knob, adding a washer will fix it.

    That’s a really good idea. I’ve got the uptop overland rack, but it functions the same way. I’ll be doing that this weekend.

      @@TXGX460OverlandandOffRoad Oh don’t worry, with my track record it’ll take me at least one extra trip to the hardware store, and possibly one to the ER.🙄

      If you don’t go to the hardware store at least twice did you really do anything at all?

    How is this holding up on freeway speed? I have seen people using connector bar or a big washer.

    Do you have a concern that the 5 star knobs may corrode even though the carriage bolts are stainless steel? I plan on having my boards mounted yr round and hopefully hardly ever remove them. TUIA

      The 5 star knobs I purchased have metal shanks that are either stainless or coated to resist rusting. I don't keep them on year round but they have had their share of exposure to the elements and no rust so far. I would think they'd be up to the job - or worst case scenario easily replaceable and inexpensive. Hope this helps!

      @@TXGX460OverlandandOffRoad I purchased the 5 star knobs via ur Amazon link. I'm planning on installing two sets of traction boards flat on the OEM roof rack when I get my new LR Defender this Friday. Every month or so I'll hopefully remember to turn them a bit and give them a shot of graphite spray. Our winters are quite brutal here in Northern NY so I may end up working the 5 star knobs more frequently. ;) Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it.

    • @TXGX460OverlandandOffRoad
      @TXGX460OverlandandOffRoad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on which traction boards you have and how flat they stack. With X-Bulls I believe I needed 4”
