Remember when HAED blamed DMC saying it was a dye lot issue during the beginning of the 09 thread debacle? She's not scared to burn bridges that's for sure. That was before she did the 're-charting'. Which I personally thought should have actually been re-charted, instead of blanket exchanging one thread colour for another for every single chart.
I've really been disappointed with HAED's behavior recently. I'm still in the group but I'm not sure I'll share my finishes there since I don't really want to support them anymore. Matt Stewart's retirement was announced five days ago "effective immediately" so again no advance notice to us stitchers. I'm excited to see your new start next video! Happy stitching 💜
HAED is certainly going through interesting times. I went through my wish list with the Easter sale and have now bought all the charts I really really want. I did not want to wake up one morning to discover Ciro Marchetti etc had suddenly disappeared. I bought about a million stitches worth, so I’m probably good for a while now….
This is my concern to, do we go ahead and buy what we want b/c they might be the next to go...
1. Great stitching this week! I'm super impressed!
2. That boss fight description was so good! Exactly how I felt when I beat Hades in Hades for the first time. The faze two betrayal is real.
3. Ugh I'm so over HAED. Thanks for sharing more of your thoughts. They really are hemorrhaging artists. I took a break from the SAL to think about if it was worth trying to finish this year. I hadn't even thought of the possibility that more artists from the SAL might be gone before the end of the year. And they probably would be replaced with AI 😮💨
4. DMC metallic blends sound horrendous. I hope you had a nice treat afterwards.
It is amazing to me that you get so much done with childten in the house. Also., all the house things to take care of. Kudos to you!
Haed seem to have had several issues over the past year. I'd ordered a custom chart from haed - a piece by a designer who was on haeds site, just she hadn't charted that design. Was told it would take a little while as she had a few others to do ahead of mine. Next time i checked, that designer had gone completely from the site and Michelle stopped responding 🤷♀️
One day I'm hoping to get that piece charted 🤞
Congrats on meeting your goals 😊 I feel like there is always some drama surrounding HAED and ever since they retired a whole bunch of artists a few weeks ago and blamed the artists, I have been really put off by them. The whole AI issue has also really put me off, not because they are charting AI pictures but rather because Michelle made a whole thing about how they wouldn’t chart AI and once again she has gone back on her word and didn’t acknowledge that (or if she did I missed it). I have some charts by HAED (some in the future start pile) however I won’t purchase any more patterns from them.

Regarding HAED, there was a recent chunk of designers retired immediately because they stopped working with a certain company that acted like an agent for those designers. It sounded like HAED had a problem with the company, and losing the designers connected with it was collateral damage. 😔 Not sure if Matt Stewart was part of that group or not.
He wasn't, Matt was retired this week with no notice but a quick note to the FB group. Omar Rayyan was also retired but not announced as was Annie Stegg.

I used to buy full coverage patterns from HAED, but now my go-to is Artecy. I'm so excited your daughter picked a new start - the book nook pattern is so pretty!
I get fanatical about finishing my projects when they get close to a finish as well. 😂

Great work on finishing all ypur goals a day early! Im very jealous that you get to start cozy book nook, I'm still waiting for my fabric. The place I ordered from contacted me to say they didn't actually have a piece the right size, 100cm x 100cm but they would be happy to send me two pieces 100cm x 50cm and "We believe that these canvases will still effectively meet your needs while providing the desired dimensions for your project." 😢 Yeah, no. This is going to be a biggie.

I stitch some HAEDs, but I never know what’s going on. There’s one project I really want so maybe I’ll buy it in case it disappears!

I agree with you about HAED - I don’t approve them doing what they have been doing lately. I was surprised about Matt Stewart and not having the time to buy some of his charts. That is such a shame. I still belong to HAED on Face Book but I only buy the Non A1 Charts. I won’t buy any of their A1 Charts.

Could you do the blue background in a different stitch? Maybe like a blackwork style that would take up more space and still give that blue look? Love all your pieces and all the great stuff you have said about ai and proper disclosure from companies.

I forgot to say. For a bigger needle look at your gecko rouge kits. The needles I get in there seem bigger. I also use 26, so that might be 24.

All of your progress looks great! 😍 I am still part of the HAED Facebook group and all I saw about the most recent retirement update was “retired effective immediately” and comments were turned off. But I didn’t see anything on IG either.
I really am not happy with the way HAED is handling things right now. I was gifted a gift card for my birthday. I may just grab the ones I have been eyeing with the gift card and then put them on a massive time out and watch out things play out. I didn’t see anything about him on Instagram. I don’t have Facebook so I don’t know anything that goes on there in their group.

Im kind of glad the artists are leaving either by their own choice or otherwise lol, and so glad to see them picked up by other companies that are charting so much of their amazing artwork. Im going to stitch the charts I have, but time to really support these other companies and artists. 🫖☕
I want that cozy winter book nook to but it is just so gigantic but you are making me want to start it! UGH HAED, I was really trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but then they ninja pulled Annie Stegg and Omar Rayyan and I was like.....what the heck. I tried just asking about it in the group and my post wasn't approved, then I was told by admin to email Michelle so I did and I said hey let us know b/c this isn't great. I have totally lost interest in the SAL b/c of it to, I just don't care, like you said who will be left?...I am all for if they want to do AI and take that risk but if she is going to act like a child about any sort of questions or dissenting opinions, in a respectful way ofc, then what is the point? She is losing a lot of people. Omar is going to be charted by Unconventional XStitch but idk where Annie is going. Part of me is like crap do I purchase more of my wishlist just bc what if more artists leave, I am super conflicted....
Until your comment I had no idea Omar Rayyan was pulled. I've asked in the group for over a year if haed was ever going to chart more of his work and that's all I was waiting for. Thank you so much for not only telling us but letting people know where his charts will be! I truly appreciate it

The haed group is oddly dramatic for crossstitch. I don't get it either!! But I stay for the periodic free charts. I don't love ai art. But I'm not gonna judge someone who does. What annoys me is that haed is constantly flip-flopping about ai. Then they get snotty about it.

HAED retired a bunch of artists not long ago. HAED said it was something to do with the licensing company, some of the artists said that HAED wanted their art to be exclusive to them but the artists never agreed to that. There always seems to be some sort of drama surrounding HAED doesn’t there 🙈 I know at least a couple of the artists are now on Paine free crafts. I’m sure the others will pop up elsewhere as well. They also seem to have an awful lot of AI charts just lately. I don’t have an issue with AI art myself, if I like it then I’ll stitch it 🤷🏼♀️ but she did say she wouldn’t chart AI stuff and now all of a sudden a huge majority of what she’s releasing seems to be AI! What a drama llama! 🦙 🤣
