I'm really glad you enjoy the videos, I certainly enjoyed doing the driving and filming . This is back in the mid to late nineties . I have several hours of this type of stuff , when I'm less pressed for time I'll load some more up
P.s been driving artics for the last twenty years, love the RL saw you on a programme with it years ago, still into bikes also as I still run a 'Frisco' 74-74cui chop which I have had for 25 years.
Hi Steve! Jonathan Jock Anderson here, you built a sidecar for me back in Heaton Moor in 1983. Been trying to get in touch for yonks but especially last week as I was trying to find you and Allan Rowe as Ian Haskell wanted you informing of Norman his dads death, the funeral was last Thursday in Offerton. Please get in touch old friend, best regards Jock
Well what a surprise. Totally blown away. I'm in touch with Alan and I'll let him know. I'm really saddened to hear of Normans death, had I known I would have come up for the funeral. I can remember as clear as day the first time I met Norman at his original shop which was in an old butchers shop off Hillgate not very far from the Star and Garter, it would have been 1970 or 71. He mentored me and my peers for many years and I have nothing but fond memories of him. Please pass my condolences to Ian and his family. This is a rather public place to have a conversation so do you want to email me on rlenthusiast@yahoo.co.uk and we can open up a line of communication. P.S your Harley sounds nice
Excellent truck, they'd go anywhere we had them as gun tractors in Cyprus and Libya with n43 Regt RA.
I used to see plenty of RLs in U.A.E back in the 70s, always loved the look of them,
Th RL was a good truck we still had a few when I was in the Army. Petrol engine as I remember.
An oldy but a goody.. we used to operate them with NZ Army.. thanks from NZ 👍🇳🇿
Decent truck, good video, I remember the points were a sod to keep doing on these, overall great times.
Excellent videos Steve, shows perfectly just how flexible the RL chassis is!
Amazing truck

There's some amount of flex in that chassis!
Cold squeeze rivets - very strong!
