Balli/Chik/Kharwas can only be made with colostrum which is the milk that a cow or a buffalo gives for the first two days after giving birth. It's a little thicker than milk and slightly yellowish but it is densely nutritious and is much higher in protein.
Making Balli is really simple. All you need is some Cheek, an equal quantity of milk and some sugar. All of these ingredients are mixed along with a little bit of cardamom and nutmeg. Some people use jaggery instead of sugar.
