      yeah i need that shit. i don't even know how many times i almost died from both embarrassment and from going 100 acceleration to 0 by shifting from 1st to neutral. it's to the point where i try to ignore 1st gear as much as i can. either you shift to neutral or you don't shift fast enough and hit rev limiter either way you are hitting a brick wall with that full sport bike acceleration to negative acceleration in 0.0002sec

    I think the reason it's hard to find neutral is that Kawasaki may still be using the "positive neutral finder" feature that I had on my old ZX6R. If you're stopped in 1st gear then no matter how hard you pull up on the gear shift lever, it wont go past neutral and into 2nd. The downside is that it's very difficult to slip into neutral while you're coming to a stop.

      Yeah its the positive neutral finder. It's quite annoying sometimes. If you stop at 2nd gear and shift down the meter will go - and act kinda confused. Also if you're going super slow from 1 to 2 it might just go into Neutral instead of 2, right after launching. Yeah it might be caused by not shifting properly, but at most times the gear is super smooth you get used to not using that much force.

    Having had my Bandit 400 for a very long time, I can attest to the appeal of this type of bike. Same as with my VTR250 Interceptor, they are frantic, tossable little toys that sing their best song when you are riding them in ways that would be abusive or very illegal on other bikes. Unless you are smaller or really tolerant of compromises, they are best as a second or third bike, or a track toy. Life constantly above 10K rpm is only fun in short bursts and it ups the maintenance schedule greatly, especially on older bikes.

    I'm in love with the concept with this motorcycle but I don't think I'll ever pick one up unless it's in the used market after a few years. I own a brand new 2021 ZX6R and I was craving having a lighter small CC bike and ended up buying a Ninja 400 a year and a half ago. Honestly, I'd rather suggest someone doing the Ninja 400 and ZX-6R combo vs buying a ZX-4R. It's definitely a niche motorcycle and I was actually super excited for it at first but it's just not for me. I feel like being able to choose between a more powerful, aggressive ZX-6R or a more comfortable, lightweight Ninja 400 at any given moment would be the better option if money isn't an issue. Now if I didn't already own a ZX-6R, I could totally see myself just getting a ZX-4R but I'd probably still eyeball the regular ninja 400 a bit as well. Honestly it really comes down to preference and what you're going to use the bike for. I mostly use my 400 for commuting but the thing still rips when I want to have some fun on it in the corners as well. I do want to see a true ZX-4R (unrestricted) vs a race 400 to see how they fair against each other on a track day.

If this is going to be your only bike then I think the ZX6R would be better since it is more suited for a wide variety of riding. The ZX4RR makes similar power to the ninja 650 you had but its different because the 650 made more power down low vs the zx4rr makes it mostly at the top. The ZX4RR would be an awesome bike for carving up twisty roads and track days but the zx6r would be better for open roads. Mate, u wear safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection and a respirator when cutting wood with a saw. 🤣😂 You have no idea how quick a sports bike can stop & change direction. Sad you ride whole Life without coming close to knowing their capabilities. But we need mass consumers like you to keep costs per unit lower. For 10K??? Uh..........YEAH,that's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overpriced for a 400cc sportbike! I remember when I first purchased my 2000 (almost 25 years ago) Honda CBR929RR,THAT was 10K and WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY TOO,as it had PHENOMENAL POWER in "stock" condition! Of course,I added an upgraded exhaust to it (Just the can,as the REST OF IT was all Titanium!!!) and uploaded a much better fuel-mapping into the ECU,and from then on........OH YEAH,she was a sweet machine!!! Not that she wasn't beforehand (as the price for it new,was justified!) but PAYING the same price for a 400cc bike today,that has "meh" stock power to it? I'd pass.........although I'd LOVE to swing a leg over one with an upgraded exhaust and has been flashed!!! Hope you find one and post about it on here! Good Video Man! : >)

      $10000 in the year 2000 is the same as a little over $18000 in todays money as per the Federal Reserve website inflation calculator. Not a fair comparison in terms of price.

    • @HeroRR
      @HeroRR  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      Thanks. I think it’s important to factor in inflation. In year 2000 $10k is = to $18k in 2023. $10k today is closer to $5,500 in year 2000.

    Underpowered and way overpriced. I was behind the 2023 ZX-6R during the Kawi Good Times Demo the other day. After a 2nd gear easy right turn onto Jackson School Rd from Evergreen, the 6R effortlessly pulled away from me while I gave the 4R all its beans. After the ride, the 6R guy told me that he only revved to 7k! Even merging with freeway traffic I had to keep the 4R engine wound out and in a low gear. I found myself constantly shaking my head in disappointment during the ride. Even when you’re stopped, the neutral notch is super small, so you lose focus on what’s going on around you while your going up and down trying to get the trans to hit neutral. All this for $13,000 out the door.🙄

    • @NudaMan
      @NudaMan 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Lol finally someone with a brain that understands! I’m all for smaller bikes but only a few grand under a 600cc I’d just buy the Zx6r, but all in all I rather just have 04-10 Zx10r 😂

    • @Stealth400
      @Stealth400 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Perhaps the clutch needed adjustment, but once in 1st and stopped, it will only shift to neutral. With an aftermarket air filter, ecu flash, and a slip on, the claim is about 75 hp to the ground. The slip on and tail tidy reduce weight by 9 lbs, so it's about 406 lbs with a full tank. I've had bigger, more powerful bikes, but ripping through the gears and making fun noises without destroying the speed limits is really fun. Also, keeping up with bigger, more powerful bikes is easy in the twisties since it can carry more speed into the corners. This is not my only bike, but it sure is fun to ride!!

    • @greglatta1
      @greglatta1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You sir are the novice if you think it's advantageous to come to a stop then fiddle around to find neutral when you're slowing down you might as well hit neutral as you come to a stop you're holding the clutch in anyway idiot
