I love how John is dressed as if he's on his way to a job interview.♥

Queen could play anything, Freddie could sing anything - no limits or boundaries. Greatest team.

Freddy was blessed with his voice. Will never hear his like in my lifetime.....Elvis didn't have the vocals like Freddy

He totally improvised that and the band is so tight they were able to just follow his lead. What talent and genius

Have seen this in later years but oh the energy in this one is wild. Hey - Metalica did a cover of Queen's STONE COLD CRAZY. Talk about thrash metal before it was called that. A must see LIVE at the Rainbow 1974 - Vintage GOLD! Also LIAR at the same gig - everyone has a fire moment in the spotlight. (Use Queen Official Video.)

If you like metal, watch Freddie do Stone Cold Crazy live 1974 at the Rainbow. Metalica did a cover of it and got a Grammy for it. The entire televised Rainbow concert is impressive and very different from their stadium rock of a decade later

Speaking from experience on the frontline of this concert, when all the lights on the drum riser went full, the blast of heat was substantial enough to make us down front check for flesh burns!

Brian May wrote this song about Queen's very first tour where they were the support band for Mott The Hoople. They toured through Europe and through part of the US with Hoople until Brian got sick and the band had to return to the UK. This was the only tour for Queen where they were not the headline band. I love the energy of this song, Thank you for your reaction. Shery Hear Attack is just a great song all the way around. Queen did a lot of heavy rock songs in the early days.

Steph! Great request. This performance of now I’m here is my absolute fave. The stage was too small to contain their energy.
    There is no other.

I actually agree: “Sheer Heart Attack” is not the style of music I would EVER like… except when Freddie is singing!!

As a huge metalhead and also Queen fan, I wouldn't say these are like, their heaviest tracks by any means. The studio version of Sheer Heart Attack is for sure more punk sounding than live. But anyways, some great like moreso metal tracks are like The Hitman, Gimme The Prize, and Stone Cold Crazy. Some that are like, on the line between rock and metal, especially for the time, are maybe White Man and Princes of The Universe. But Queen hasn't done like, metal with breakdowns and stuff, but they did push the boundary for what was like, acceptable at the time and for me some of it was like a gateway into more heavy shit, like early Metalica, Pantera, Slayer type stuff

I saw this tour (in Chicago) when I was 16; I'd seen every Queen show from 1976 until their last tour with Freddie, and yes, I feel blessed. There was never anything like a Queeen show.

In reference to Metallica, check out Queen's song Stone Cold Crazy. Metallica covered this song in 1991....it is considered the first Thrash Metal and was released on the Sheer Heart Attack album in 1974...

Thanks, Mad! Funny you mentioned Metallica right away, b/c they did a cover of Roger Taylor's "Sheer Heart Attack".. .although of course, Queen did it best, IMHO... look forward to more reactions from you... appreciate that you're willing to expand your horizons with this group...(p.s., "Now I'm Here" was written by guitarist Brian May... who said at one time that "everybody eventually agreed that everything sounded better when Freddie sang it".. so although Brian and Roger were great singers, they usually gave up the lead to Freddie when live....)...

@Mad_Ang there is no other name to compare, no other band to compare. None. Queen is the measure other bands strive to emulate or/and to attain! Ask "Van Halen', 'Metallica', 'Guns N Roses', etc. Thank you for your reaction 🙂

@Mad_Ang PS: 'Sheer Heartache' is Queen's response to the punk-rock movement. Queen will/does cover all genres just because they can!!!
