I grew up camping at that camp sites at Granite Flat. Because it has campsites, the DFG or the Fish and Wildlife Service typically use to plant catchable size rainbow trout, about once a week, along the river at each camp area up the highway, Silver Creek, and another campsite area. I think Goose Meadows? If I remember correctly, it’s been a long while since the last time. Honestly, I’ve caught some really nice fish in that stretch of river. Rainbows and German Brown. You just have to spend time and fish with a lot of patience, and match the hatch as best as possible. Be sure to carry a really good bear spray cause those bears suddenly just show up out of no where!!! Good luck out there!!
Great score on that rainbow! I've watched a couple of your videos so far I have to say, outstanding bro! You do some great filming while fishing! Atb Sean
Good job wetting your hands before handling the fish! The term you are looking for is hoot owl closure, noon to 4. The so-called hoot owl closures are because of high temps and really depend on the weather. There is no noon-4. Its better to take a thermometer and get a water temp. Temps getting up near 70 are no bueno for the fish. General rule, 68 and above, leave the fishing for another time.
Love Granite flat. We go every year. Where's the closest river fishing to Tracy? I went up to Mokelumne day use last weekend, pretty nice place. think I might try again this weekend.
The coolest math teacher! 😎
Thanks!!
It looks like you were fishing at the Hirschdale area. Looking forward to fishing the Truckee this Saturday, likely the same place you did.
With temperatures in Sac being so warm, it’s refreshing to watch fishing videos in da mountains. Thx! 👍🙏🎣⚒
Looking for the extra credit Mr Creaseman 😂
The directors and producers of Palm Circle Pete have really changed directions here!
Haha that’s what my wife said…hopefully still an okay vid? 😎
If you haven’t replaced your crocs yet I switched to Merrill HydroMocs and find them a little more sturdy in the water.
Thanks! I’m a croc man personally though haha

Nice under water footage. What is your set up, rod, line leader, etc. Looks like a clear indicator?

Awesome fishing man! That noon to 4pm rule seems weird when the hottest time of the day is 5pm
Thanks! Honestly that’s what I thought too, but I was advised about the rule by a more avid fly fishing bud so I respected it. 🤷♂️
You know more than me about fishing that’s for sure! Thanks for all the awesome videos man keep em coming!
