I was really hoping during the Pirate fight, when they were using the human ship for cover, one of the pirates took a pot shot at the metal dreadnaught, just so everyone else could see those “strange evenly spaced holes” in the metal ship turn the Pirate into space dust with a broadside.
15 Mar 1952: The Wisconsin receives her first direct hit in her history when one of four shells from a North Korean 152mm gun battery struck the shield of a starboard 40mm mount. Subsequently, the Wisconsin destroyed the battery with a full 16in salvo before continuing her mission. After destroying the artillery battery with her big guns, the Wisconsin received a message from one of her escorts, USS Buck. The message read simply "Temper, temper".
So an alien race with living technology and a living starship encounter humans traveling in a sleeper ship but humans being extremely advanced because (reasons) completely obliterate everything else that they encountered as hostile in this alien space. Meanwhile the aliens with the living technology is by their standards quite powerful and the human technology dwarfs this by the evidence of using metal for their starship.
Okay if it wasnt for the size of the ship I would have said that they weren't that advance, it's just they are using metal and everyone else is using Wood
Not advanced, they have sleeper ships instead of FTL. The reason their ships can wipe out the living ships is because our weapons are designed for destroying metal, wood won’t do much to stand up to that. If an advanced species turned up at Earth with organic matter ships today, they would quickly lose.
@Kenric Young They understand metalworking, it is just that their home world (and system) has only (relatively) tiny amounts. As the part about what sounded like a crude axe-mace hybrid being used to cut something they thought of as indestructible revealed. Probably the entire supply in their system was from meteor impacts.
@@nvfury13 Not just their system. I think the entire stellar region is metal poor because neither these guys nor their neighbors use it. If it was just their star system, you'd think at least one race in the area would be using metal. So the lack of metal isn't just limited to one planet or even one star system. They could be living in an area heavy with population II star systems.
WOW! I liked that one. Nicely expanded on! Kudos to the author for fleshing out a very good story. And, as usual, Agro did a great job with the reading of and choosing of another great bit of entertainment!
I absolutely loved all of this. I am glad that you did all three parts in one so that I got the whole story. Thank you thank you. I love listening to you read to us. You do a great job. :D

While I've greatly enjoyed the story, I can' help but wonder, is the thumbnail (which shows "Grown, part 1-3 vs Built part 1-3") implying there is the human side story also available in 3 parts?
I know that this is like a year late but oh well Its a mix-up, grown 1-3 has th thumbnail for this and vs built has the thumbnail for grown. The video that should have this thumbnail have the thumbnail for vs built. No idea how that happened but oh well
@@somuchfacepalm9733 Same. Also, the lack of metal suggests that these aliens live on the outer edges of the galaxy or in an area loaded with Population II stars where metals are scarcer.

I decided to reupload this one with all the parts instead of as separate videos.
I was wondering why the story ended so abruptly, I for some reason was unable to find any other parts. Thanks for the combined upload :)
Whoooo!
Thanks to the grand narrator!
Like Jack Harkness once said "More parts, how delightfully unexpected".
thanks for the consideration.
It's nice seeing an alien bridge crew that doesn't have the captain being murderousness tyrant
Without this I wouldn't have realized that there were multiple parts to the story's thanks in advance
Same my hfy content need is filled by him, netnarrator, and others

The bioship appears to be FTL capable which would be useful but dreadfully vulnerable to hot lead.

@Kenric Young Yeah, but no 40K race thinks a vine that parts like butter for an axe that had been in storage for centuries is “indestructible”.
