When you were talking about people who have inspired you, I remembered how you inspired me last winter. In a video which you showcased books in the bookstore that you thought were beautiful, you showed this collection of Austen novels, with this lilac cover embellished with painted flowers. I fell completely in love with the edition and slyly pointed it out to my mother, who got the hint and handed it to me on Christmas. I spent the whole day reading it. If I had never clicked on that video, I would've never seen that book, nor your channel, both which have brought me a lot of peace on hard days. So thank you :)

just watched your forest home video and enjoyed this so much. My husband also was happy to let me be free to decorate our house. He has done all the woodworking which was his special gift. Now 60 years later l still love my home and it is full of all the things we love. Over the years it has been amusing to see people's reactions. some said it gave them a good feeling. some felt they had to say it was not their taste and others said nothing. l truly do not mind what they think or care. So do not ever change. I am 80 now and always thinking of new things l want to do. I so much enjoy all your videos and thank you.

when you said you needed a sofa.... I immediately saw an old iron daybed filled with lots of layers and textures of old linens, lace and different pillows. Also was happy to see Miss Potter was on your list of favorite movies. Every time they showed her upstairs bedroom, I would swoon. I would imagine myself living in that cozy little sanctuary at the top of the stairs. It was such a magical space which would foster such inspiration and creativity. Pure heaven.

So gentle on yourself and I love your handmade lavender cards. My favourite range is Scullys and Linden Leaves and Natio - so lovingly handmade and I love Jane Austen books and second hand books on herbs and home made biscuits like short bread and Earl Grey Tea and Herbal Teas - I love Antiques earrings - I love hand made cards with book quotes and Bible quotes. I love lemon and lime fruit trees.

I love it. I totally get what you’re doing with your space. I am doing my own renovations but not any major reconstruction work. Mostly plastering and painting and such. As someone who'd been deeply interested in interior design my whole life, and studied it on my own for the last 2ish years - I find more value in your points of view than a lot of other places. So many things feel artificial, shallow, and fast fading and that part of the interior design world doesn't sit right with me.
I love how your home is turning out. The wood tones with the green feel so cozy and beautiful.
Tip for you DearHeart, if you find beautiful old hankies while thrifting. Grab them, when you have enough, you can make curtains, table runners, table clothes, runners for your dresser tops...and what ever else you can think of. Even sachets! I'm a thrifter too. And a dollar store shopper😊. My husband after getting married made me a shelf for the bathroom, to hold my bits and pieces. It was prefect, I painted it bright blue with some ceramic paints, then free handed tiny leaves and flowers all around the edges and back. And used matte gloss to set them in place. It turned out adorable. And my husband looked at and said you have talent I didn't know about...it's really lovely.😊 Things I haven't done in a long time now. Being a wife and mom of one kept me busy and now I don't have the money for a lot of the artistic things I used to do😕. And sometimes my fingers ache too much. But I do love to color . I’m a fairly new subscriber and haven’t commented on any of your posts until now, despite being enchanted by all of them. But, I felt like I had to reach out today, because I have developed such a strong kinship with you & your journey. I too experienced something devastating at 21, but it was so heartbreaking that it broke my soul. I simply survived for years, until I finally received the help I needed to move past it. As a result, it took me decades to actually realize who I am and what I needed in my life. Finally, at 64, I can finally say that I have accepted the real me and embraced what I need to feel safe, content & fulfilled, which is a home full of sunshine, flowers, bunnies, and birds. My own “English Garden.”
