I got the RT1250 awhile back. You cannot go wrong with this company. Some of the best food I have ever cooked came off of this thing. I would mention for new people to the smoker. Remember to clean out your fire pot after every 2-3 cooks depending on how long of a cook it was. Obviously wait till it is super coo. I normally do it before my next cook when it is time. You can run these dry without any issues and it is good to do every 3-4 bags to get out any build up of wood dust. Great video on the 340! Straight to the point and good information.
Thanks for ALL your critiques ... I have waited awhile and done lots of research ... because of that and you Marc I am ordering one today! Just an ol’ Texas soul that can’t do without great BBQ! Thanks Marc!!!
Great video, I spent 6 months looking at the different brands of pellets smokers. This is one of the best video I have seen on an unboxing. Thank you for pointing out about not hitting the temp probe on the inside of the smoker. Proud owner of the REC TEC 700 {{THE BULL}}.
Thanks Marc. I just set up my 340 in about 15 minutes and I'm going through burn in right now. Your video was spot on and very helpful. The wireless setup was so easy. Can't wait to take the maiden voyage this afternoon. lol
Thank you for this review! This put the nail in the coffin for me on getting this grill. I went down to the showroom today and picked one up (since they are about 10 miles from me). Now my wife wants me to get rid of my charcoal grill, I don't think that going to happen though.

Great video... got my trailblazer a few months before winter hit. Looking at assembling and starting to cook this weekend. Being brand new to smoking I did a lot of searching and really wanted a portable smoker for camping/tailgating. It was between this and the traeger tailgater. But after looking at the traeger at a local HD, I thought those legs are weak and flimsy (and not very easy to adjust). Being that I live in Traeger country (Salem Oregon) it was hard (even painful) not to buy local (until I found out Joe and family no longer are a part of Traeger grills, they work at a local center for Danson who make the Pitt boss and Louisiana Grills). Also after speaking with a few Traeger owners who also own a RecTec who said they love both I decided to go with the RT340 Trailblazer. Loved the video but probably not a good idea to tear up the box until a damage and functionality test is completed. Just had to send back a Bullseye that was damaged but box appeared ok. I have an RT-700, Matador and Bullseye. All awesome grills by recteq. I like the idea that the legs fold for transport but this is still a heavy and bulky grill for camping or RVing. Yes.. But the build quality is nothing to sneeze at! Not everything built in China is crap. This certainly deserves its cudos!
if you have to show people how to open a box they shouldnt be operating a grill.
You're so misinformed on so many levels. lol
