Exactly right. Not easy to beat Sri Lanka at home. Australia and NZ getting smarter when travelling subcontinent, stacking their teams with spinners and one or two pace bowlers.

@@debasismohanty1952 NZ beaten India in India. Does that mean India are not dominant at home? India beaten Aus twice in Aus. Does that mean Aus are not dominant at home? Bro, get some cricketing sense than using this cringe smiley

Any talk of khawaja not being in the ashes after he just struck a double tonne is just delusional. He struggled vs bumrah, no other team in world cricekt have a jasprit bumrah. The ashes should be hes last series. He averages 45 over 80 odd tests. He is one of our greatest ever openers, up there with taylor, slater and langer and warner. The next rung down from hayden

There is no chance the aussie squad will hear talk of khawaja not playing until he decides its time to quit. They talk about him in the highest regard

I've always thought that when the main team is touring the second team should tour same country at same time . Wether playing the national 2nd 11 or playing their domestic. I remember 20 years ago they would take a squad of like 17 play a bunch of tour matches resting the in form players on non test so 6 players would get experience and or try fight for the other 5 spots in the test. They don't do that no more so second 11 should be there playing

Regardless of what goes on in 2nd test in Sri Lanka...Gotta put SAF on the back foot from start. Two spinners must play @Lords .Kuhnem in And have understanding this is Webster's day in the sun @7 and bowling behind Cummins and Starc! SAF pace attack is the issue Travis must open take it on fight fire with fire . Australia has the scope and Brains to let Inglis bring the heat like Travis does at 3!

Wouldn't read too much into a result where everything went right from the start, ie. winning the toss. SL missed reviewing Head's LBW. Khawaja escaped his bete noir, Bumrah. Smith was dropped on 1. Ingliss played very well but he came in at 3/401. A good win away from home, for sure, but not of much meaning in the wider context.

i think the WTC final team is pretty set in stone, if Green cant bowl then Webster should bat at 6 (or 7), Carey keeps the keeper spot as hes easily the best gloveman and not really doing much wrong and Hazelwood plays if fit and if not then Boland plays.
Khawaja opens and it may be his final test as they look on towards the next WTC cycle with Konstas back in to open with him and Head back at 5

Great win. But the toss plays a huge role in the subcontinent. NZ beat India 3-0 recently in India after winning all 3 tosses. And there are plenty of recent examples of teams having huge wins in the first test of series then getting thrashed. Dare I mention in the India Australia series just completed.

I feel like the Inglis innings will be too easily dismissed. He looked amazing out there. A keeper who averages more than 30 odd would be huge for this Aussie team, hasn't been seen since Gilchrist.
