Loved, loved, loved all of it! The "return of Mitch" in 2001 was a riot and I only started watching in 2001. I swear, several times in those 3 years just when I thought they were going to wrap this up they would go off in another whole direction with "Mitch". It was incredible, and like someone else said, because so much of this revolved around Vicki you just accepted it and totally enjoyed. I'm back again in '09 as guess who just showed up again? Can't wait to see the next wicked chapters!
This storyline actually disappointed me. Decades of rich history surrounding Victor's life and death were basically thrown out the window for an implausible, short-term story arc. OLTL was notorious for doing that kind of thing.
Poor Viki has just been through hell! And because of both Mitch and Victor! I don't know how I felt about them bringing Victor back from the dead, but whenever Erika Slezak is involved, hell I don't mind! LOL
I wish someone had the clip after this when Victor dies and Viki goes to his room by herself and talks to him even though he's dead. I "think" she forgave him for all the madness then and in her childhood, and I believe she told him she loved him and hoped he was at peace, and then what really blew me away is that just before she turned to leave the room she lifted her hand and straightened the hair on his forehead. It sent shivers down my spine.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND. So, Viki as Tori, never killed Victor years before?? This is crazy. All that powerful story in 95 where it was Viki who killed Victor after everyone thought Dorian did it for years was all FALSE??. They never should have rewrote the story and brought him back. RIDICULOUS
@soapdeity do you by chance have the scene in the hospital when Viki confronts Victor? I've been looking everywhere for it and I just can't seem to find it. Thanks for posting this vid by the way. I loved this storyline and fully appreciate you taking your time to upload for fans like me-3
I'll add the request to the list. I don't have the scenes where Nat finds out Cris is dead anymore. I had stopped editing by that point and just keeping select complete episodes on tape...and I haven't been able to find that tape anywhere. I think I may have taped over it.

I love Victor Lords return. It gives the show more meaning and purpose having Victor return. Wanting the heart of a Lord, and him going as far as trying to take one from the two girls. It's the heart of the show. If there was no Victor the show would just circle around with relationships that just begin and end. Victor's appalling, selfish, criminalistic behavior is the center of the show. It's what drives the show. And gives outsiders a more feeling of how important friends and family really are. And puts right and wrong in perspective.❤️🧡💛
Why is it that a few years later Dorian finally admits to killing Victor and Viki said that was impossible because he’d returned from the dead and Dorian said “If that was him….” Then Viki goes to Victor’s grave and the headstone still says he died in 1976.
The WORST storyline OLTL had EVER done. Poor Erika Slezak had to schlep through this garbage. I mean, Victor 'died' multiple times. First, Dorian killed him (or did she)? Then Viki smothered him as Tori. What was the use of Victor's tomb? Just saying. This was an insult to both the actors and the viewers.

I mention this because Dorian was convinced that Victor was actually dead and when Viki mentioned him coming back to life Dorian felt it wasn't really Victor. Pure trash. When Victor died years ago, it set the tone for Viki's life as a person suffering from DID because of her father. This was a waste of Erika's immense talent and a smack in the face to loyal fans.
She didn't get the love that Jessica was born into but what redeemed her is how she went from the monster she was at first to becoming so likeable. A fan favorite beloved by all including Asa. It was masterful the way the writers integrated her character & made her feel as deserving & beloved a Buchanan as Jessica by the series end. People love a good Cinderella story.. - an OLTL fan from 1981 - 2011

She stole Brody from her. And let's not talk about how Natalie's "flavor of the month" Jared shoved Jessica's husband Nash to his death, causing Jessica to split into Tess/Bess, because she was in so much pain. If those examples weren't enough, let's talk about how even when Jessica was on the road to recovery Natalie would NOT allow Jessica near her own kids, and she didn't do that because Jessica was a threat, she did it because she wanted to punish Jessica for what "Tess" did. But go ahead and make excuses for her character lol.

This is OLTLs biggest mistake imo. You literally put an asterisk on the history of Dorian and Vikis relationships and especially Viki. Dorian and Vikis best stories were Dorians murder trial for Victor's murder and then the big reveal that Dorian knew Victor was a child abuser and her *vikis* alter killed him off in 1976.
TIIC said Victor faked his death & lived on an isolated farm. Technically, you're right but I don't think Victor lived long enough after everyone realized he was alive to cause Dorian's previous marriages to become invalid. Anyway a couple of years ago Dorian revealed she was still married to Manual Santi & that that's why she couldn't marry David. She later got an annulment. So take your pick at which 1 invalidates her past marriages.
I would say 'yes'...but there's always another writer/exec who decides to rewrite history (as in this case). So, is anyone really dead on a soap opera? They can find ways to bring most anyone back...glaring exceptions would be Megan :( and the like...

Sometimes new head writers overturn retconned storylines that they didn’t like or most viewers didn’t like in order to appeal to viewers
