Sorry folks, but this kit just didn't grab me. I thought it was a great subject and ok for it's age, but it was just a bit pants. I'd love to see a new tool though.
There's always one or two kits that we just don't enjoy making or are not happy with the result! And let's face it, we are never gonna get a kit that is one hundred percent perfect to build but to me that's the whole point, getting over these problems and learning from them and making an even better model with the next one! As a learned person once said 'it is what it is!!!' 😄😄
Just put it under a cover so it doesn’t get dusty or broken and see if it doesn’t grow on you, sometimes the ones you found irritating to build later one can become fond of 😂
I can understand your feelings about building this kit - I'm half way through building the recent rerelease of the Airfix 'Bond Bug', & although I welcomed it's rerelease, it is proving NOT to be an enjoyable experience... (the steering assembly in particular is all wrong, if you follow the instructions - in the end I had to resort to pictures of the real thing on the internet in order to put it together correctly - NOT good, if you happen to be a beginner). It seems that this kit has similar issues... Generally I welcome the 'Vintage Classics' range, but I do not think that they are suitable for the novice model builder. None the less you seem to have done a tidy job on building this kit ! 👏.
I intend building this kit but I may leave off the wheels as I can find no reference to them on archive photographs although some show funny little legs, which may provide some support when the craft is static. Sorry you didn't enjoy the build, I may not either as I am making it as a nostalgia trip, cheers.
Cheers Steven. Ah well, enjoying the Bond Bug at the moment. The SRN1 seems to have had odd metal frames in the corners in one of the clips I saw. I guess it was modified a few times so depends on when. I hope you enjoy it. 😉

I’ve built a couple of these Airfix classics and not had fun making any of them especially the Bond bug. Thanks for the heads up on this one 👍
