  • In a survival situation, your entire life could depend on something as simple as a short length of rope. No rope to tie a simple tarp to a tree for a basic shelter? Then you're sleeping in the elements. Not a strand to tie a hook onto for fishing? You might be going hungry some more.
Rope and cordage are without a doubt one of the most versatile things you could have with you in a survival situation which is why it makes sense to carry multiple types in your Pocket Survival Kit (PSK) and Cache Valley Prepper's going to show you exactly what you need.

Cord is so light that you can stuff some in many areas of your bags and pockets, including hats. It is good to improvise, but do try to carry real fishing line with your fishing kits as it is always best to have the right tool for the job.
