This series of tutorial videos is excellent BUT you should adjust the make up gain to match the original volume. Anything louder will usually sound better, even if there´s no difference with the initial sound.
Thanks friend! I'll try this out. Do you have any further suggestions on how to get more of a "crack" sound out of the snare drum? I've been experimenting with SD3 and I'm having trouble achieving this. No matter what I do, I seem to get too much of that snare wire sound in there. Just looking for ways to reduce that a bit and give the snare more depth. Thanks!
OK, fine. But I cannot reproduce that with the Pearl Kit in Superior Drummer 3! How would you explain that? You tweaked sth. that you didn´t show here in this video.
I noticed you have only out 1/2. I have out all the way up to 26. Do I just use out 1/2? Or am I doing it the wrong way? I started a drum track from scratch but havnt recorded or mixed anything yet.
this depends if you want the drum set send as one bus channel (in this case only uae 1/2) if you want multichannels (you can assign it in the mixer) then you would use more of the channels^^ so this is really to taste and preference. but you can always ajust the volumes in the mixer in superior drummer:D hope this helps you
Then you are deaf? Seriously, there is a HUGE change in tone/attack/compression/harmonics/saturation etc. It is literally WORLDS apart... No disrespect meant ...but I suggest you listen again..
Thanks for this wonderful and simple lesson.

Ah May Zing! I have this wonderful software with a Roland kit and it never fails to deliver.
These videos are a big reason why I bought SD3 for my Alesis multipad. Thank you
Thanks for the great tutorials on SD3! These are good for some of us that that don't know all the 'whats' and 'whys' of how this stuff works.
Great lesson on compression. I learned more about how to actually use a compressor.
why is the volume bossting without any makeup gain? makes no sense to me. It should be quieter with the gain reduction. Did i miss something?
THANKS!
Nice tutorial

what are you putting as the side chain input?
Do you know what effects the song Call Me by Blondie has on it?

I was just having the same issue! That is DEFINITELY NOT the default pearl kit.

You might want to invest in new monitors.
