It worked for me.. Fimi was very quick to respond when i originally didn't have the option for drone calibration and I now have drone calibration that worked flawlessly as well as gimbal and IMS.. thanks for the tutorial and inspiring me to get the fimi x8 v2 as a new drone pilot.👍
I just did the calibrations when I got the drone new.. I think it is recommended before 1st flight, so can't really say if it helped, although it seems to fly very well.
I have only once done a calibration with my SE 2020, that was the first time I set it up (Aug 2020). Since then I have moved to Vietnam and still never done any calibrations. It's one of the good ones with a level horizon so I'm not touching anything
I knew nothing about the imu I'm going to try it on My vision 1 I've done the compass calibration an gimbal cal. I liked how you did that one. Outside. I first time I did these Holly Stone drones. Bout fell down. Thanks for the update. Keep on flying my friend. God bless
Hey fimi buddy..!!!!! I have just one question regarding the batteries... Which is the longest lasting and which is the most stable of the 2.. I know the heavier one has more mah.. Can yu list the 2 batteries and your advice on which is best... I do want more time.. Thanks bud...!!!
I did a series of battery tests on the Moini V2 with all 3 batteries. There is but a few minutes between them all. If you are a stickler for the rules then the LiPo (Pro) battery is the only one that will get you below 250g. The Li-ion's will last longer and can be charged with impunity.
Thank you for the tutorial, and very informative video. Question : What about the RC calibration ? I think I've seen a message once or twice where it was asking me for an RC calibration.
You are correct.. I did not include that one.. Oops!!... Simply if you calibrate the RC it will ask you to turn off the Craft. then follow along with the animation that illustrates moving the sticks around and the dials. Important.. after .. you must shut down everything and re-boot.
How did you get it to stay on that long without overheating? I cant even make it through a simple software update on my desk without it overheating and shutting off. I even tried pointing a small fan directly at the body of the drone. I also have never gotten a successful compass calibration the normal way, only like you did. The figure 8 method sometimes works for the fimi also. I forget, what was the deal with the error about "Compass interfered, fly carefully" or something like that.
At 10:16 I was getting the overheat signal.. but I know the craft will simply shut down if it gets too hot. I did not see the interference issue but I would not be surprised in the area I was flying.. Truck, Garage, Hydro transformers etc...
The question is, if IMU calibration is good to make on table of white color? This thing have some optical sensor on the bottom and I don't know if senzor can recognise white table the same as some darker ones?
I dont think the IMU has anything to do with external sensors. But yes.. the Fimi craft does have issues with un textured surfaces.. ie: snow, gravel, sand, water etc.
@@GorillamansGarage Thank you. Now I see this is basically gyro calibration and have nothing to do with optical sensors. I'm from drone racing and there we have a lot of times calibrate racing drones, but this we do just to put it on flat surface. No need for rotating drone... This confused me a little. :) I saw now in some video, that IMU calibration(it was for Mavic) is might better to do in colder (at least not too warm) area. It would be interesting to see if this might help to Fimi be more stable.
I just purchased a version 2 and made a couple flights so far. However, the Drone will return to home without me activating it to do so. I'll fly it out to say 300-400 ft,let go of the controls and it decides to rth. Battery is good at that time, not engaged in any smart function either. What the heck. Any input would be welcome before I send it back
@GorillamansGarage beginner mode switch is off but what do you mean by going through every app option? Is there more than one thing to turn off to totally be out of beginner mode?
@@BlueCoatPatriot : Could be not enough satellites, Did you log in to Fiimi? Try a re4set of all parameters?.. Ive just not heard of this issue before.
@@GorillamansGarage Yeah, new year, it's not urgent, it's just a good option to have to hand if needed. I have already wrote to them. Thank you for your support and your quality professional videos :)
**The IMU Calibration may not be available in all regions. Upon request, Fimi will unlock the feature.**

Do you recommend me to do this procedure? have you noticed improvements?

@@Dariuto: Only if you notice bad behaviour. Most times they fly pretty good right from the factory.
Great video
Great, I'll take it into account for my next flight.

That is usually the best way to do things. Congratulations on getting a good one.

and another tip dont fly under metal canopys of metal buildings, they reflect and block gps and then it crashes...
now rebuilding my drone....

@GorillamansGarage I had 22 satellites so that's not it. OK thanks,I guess I'll try to figure it out
@@BlueCoatPatriot : Did you go back and look at the flight recording?
Note: Fimi x8 v2 Drone Calibration under maintenance is not there. I am in the UK if it makes any difference.
I have seen that in some countries. In that case you have to contact Fimi with your Fimi ID number and ask them to unlock it for you.
