Why does he keep looking at me the way my high school teachers looked at me when I wasn't paying attention?

I find it an issue that I can live with. Though if any of my panels (Radio, Switch and Multi) ever become u/s in the future I don't think I will be replacing them with a Logitech re-branded similar types, I have had so many issues with poor QC with Logitech on the past it is enough for me to take a wide berth of their stuff.

So what would you replace it with?

anybody out there can help me with laggy dials on the radio panels? you turn the knob and it takes several seconds for the LED display to report, thus causing all kinds of problems. Dials not responding, dials responding dreadfully slowly, LED disappearing, Not sure if SPAD fixes all those problems but it would be great if SPAD had a built-in latency timer so that you could tell how quickly the responses make it from the dial to the LED panel. x-plane works fine, no lag at all. I don't even see a driver software loaded in add/remove or in task manager in W10. So x-plane must only need a plug-in, which works fine.

Hello, just a question if anyone has the time. i was considering getting this for my autistic son, he loves buttons and lights like this ! but hes not capible or interested in simulators. can this device be plugged into say a computers USB and used more like a display/toy , i mean, does it require a sim to be running to synch up info to the device, or can it be used as a decorative piece ? thank you .

I guess you could just run it with the test program, but it seems like a very limited toy. I expect there are a whole lot of better-targeted sensory/technical toys out there.

7 YEARS LATER... 2024 still low quality glitchy encoders. Logitech are not a tech company, they are just box shifters. They do not design tech, they just buy up the rights to products created by others and then sell them. They do not upgrade any hardware that they sell. At best they will sometimes contract out the updating of software drivers to independent developers if and when absolutely necessary. I am currently trying to get a Motive Mods upgraded panel, but there is a problem because they say that the Radio Panel is not available in the USA, which is strange as I can get one from several outlets here in Europe.

They used to have an option to send your panel to them, or to purchase the upgrade as a kit. Perhaps their market is too small to make it worthwhile :(

This is a joke mark with the 90 day warranty and yes I have the same problem as you.But just a couple of days ago 3 of my digits on the panel gave up the ghost and its not even a year old. Hope they sort this out as they are not cheap.Wish I could get it for that price because on ebay they cost a hell of a lot more.

Thanks for this video. I have two questions: Do you know if the single magneto switch on a Saitek switch panel can be configured to independently start each engine on a multi engine plane? And secondly, what size are your monitors?

Monitors first - they are 32" Samsung TVs. For the Saitek panel, you can do this with external programming software such as FSUIPC, LINDA or SPAD.neXt. There are a number of ways to do it, but either way you will need another switch (or up to four buttons) to indicate which engine you want. How you do it depends on the tool you choose. Look at my SPAD.neXt video (th-cam.com/video/_VqZuFAHTMQ/w-d-xo.html) from about 17:00 to see how to use local variables to make conditional actions. You can do it with Lua in LINDA or FSUIPC. You can probably also do it in FSUIPC with a combination of compound button actions and conditional actions, but that would be fiddly.

Thanks for your quick reply. I'll check out your other video. Currently, I have the two front toggle switches on my CH yoke assigned with FSUIPC, one for each mag (up to go right, down to go left). Works pretty well, but it would be nice to actually turn the mags like the real thing. Can't find a pre-made panel with two mags on it. Probably have to make my own at some point.

Yes, that's the problem I encountered when setting up the Beech Baron for X-Plane 11 - I have lots of hardware controls but none are really suitable for the magneto switches. My solution was I just left them switched on all the time :)

Can you show how to repair the X52 Pro twist spring? The potentiometer is still good on mine but it won't return to centre.

Sorry, I don't have one of those, broken or otherwise!

I want to buy this panel but what about 8.33. I use my sim to train myself on checlists and procedures and frequencies so I feel now with the new 8.33 frequenties in europe, the sim has lost a lot of realism

    • @AlmostAviation

I would guess this is about the sim software. Maybe P3D and/or X-Plane will adapt if the rules are changing...
