I have such a model with a CD. The sound is great, it's amazing how engineers used to design these machines.
I was looking at the schematics of improvements and modifications of several late-series Alpine units, it turns out that in this model (as in this video and in mine with the CD) no changes to the circuit are required - the capacitor groups are already high quality, no cheap parts (including operational amplifiers). The voltage supply traces on the board are reinforced with a layer of solder, in general, everything is thought out for quality sound.
Immediately after switching on it is enough to set the volume to only 3 units - already enough! Awesome bass, no fusion (mush) in any genre of music. On the table, this car radio catches the radio even when not connected to the wire!!! It has such a powerful tuner, and its reception strength is adjustable in the menu...
