I dont always 100% agree with evrything, but I do trust your opinions and reviews. well done. i like the fact you seem to give honest opnions positive and negative
I got Alice's garden last week from Kienda, we haven't stopped playing it since! So much fun and so accessible. Just the right amount of easy tension and choices.
Just wanna let you know that I enjoy watching your "NO HOLDS BARRED" reviews.👊You're so honest and straightforward. I also check your reviews first before purchasing a game.😁 Love your work and more power to your channel!❤
Yes this game is still not available in the United States. I'm from the States and have been looking for it for a while. We are missionaries in Peru and happened to find a game store in Lima and I was thrilled to find Jardin de Alicia. I recognized the cover and was so excited. We love this game!!!
Got this from Kienda last week for under £20 including shipping. Pretty good game. Those bags are good quality, although I do wish the tiles were thicker. I like the scoring mechanisms and there's a scoring variation on BGG. Only played a few solo games so far, but it's decent. Thanks Luke, love your channel.
Just got this from Kienda on your recommendation. Yep - I think that this in combination with Project L will fire Barenpark out of my collection - it’s starting to show its age against these sharper but no more complex games.
Hmmm. I was thinking of getting Bearen Park, but your thinking this could be better as a family weight game? I'm going have to try first. My daughter and her friends might like because of the Alice theme. And you say there's a lot of bang for it's buck. This is going on a wishlist somewhere. Thanks for the video.
Interesting, in the German version the player boards have a different back side. The checkerboard pattern is arranged differently and there's an alternative scoring. I ordered it today and I'm looking forward to it 🙂 thanks for the review.
Great Review! Listening to your comment it feels like they could have (should have even) gone for the same scoring than Cascadia and Tiny Towns: some cards to randomize the scoring for each category. Still I will check that one out :)
My favorite gateway polyomino game is Project L. It’s easily the game I’d pick for anyone who enjoys fare like Splendor (sorry, Century: Spice Road) and is easy to grasp for those who haven’t played many games. Also, Zee has become one of my go-to sources for discovering lesser-known games. If you haven’t watched his Hidden Gems series on the Dice Tower, I highly recommend it.
I’ve never played a polyomino game, but this sounds fun. I also immediately thought of people that I would introduce it to. I wonder if its in the US. I’ve never heard of it. (Actually, I guess if Zee did a review, it’s probably available here.)
hi there, about gateway and faster play, and regardless box sizes : Would you play this game over Isle of Cat with the Family Variant rules ? (wich gets some objectives cards that boost out the replay value compare to Alice's Garden) I'm struggling between both to keep only one of them and not having 2 of the samy(sh) type of games (wich i'm trying to avoid in my collection) The plus for alice is defenatly the pacing, box and footprint size, but, defenatly the isle of cat is a much better looking game. OOOOOR... YEAHH... You can say to me keep both and take alice while traveling... Damn... The highlander rule (Only one can stay...) is such a hard stuff :D Cheers and keep up the good work here !
Thanks! Honestly if I'm playing Isle of Cats, I'm not playing Family mode, I play the full mode only. But even then it's a beast of a box, a fair bit of setup and I tend to just play it solo given its long duration with too many players. Alice's Garden is just easier to grab, get out, teach and play in a shorter space of time.
@@TheBrokenMeeple hi there. Well, we just tried Alice two or three days ago. And... Well... I'm selling my isle of cats copy! :D And let's say it, I really like IoC, but... Alice is so easier to put on the table ! And actually, We didn't expect to have so much fun with that little game! So Thanks for this video coz you made me wanna try it and we're really pleased with it! It become my only and go to polyo! Cheers
This game is available in Books A Million and online im the US. I bought it yesterday for my daughter, I think we're both going to like it!
Hope you enjoy it! Glad it's available now!

Thank you, that's how I try to roll!

Not that old but there are just some better looking and faster titles.

Both are great games but Alice is better looking and cheaper

I'm traveling to Germany in June, mind if I ask where have you bought your copy? Thank you!

Yeah certainly worth it!

Yeah I checked those out, we gel on a few 😊
Looks lovely!

Came out a few years ago and yes Zee reviewed it, hopefully it came out in us.

@@aorakis5795 Fantastic!! So happy to hear that!!
Would you pick this over My City? Very cool video! I like how easy it is to learn and play.
I believe I would yes. Aesthetically is more pleasing and for casual games you don't want legacy aspects.
I think this game looks good, I think my kids would really like this game as they like barenpark, patchwork and project l.
I thought Barenpark was OK, but I think I would like this better, esp. the theme.
I think I'm ready to sell Barenpark honestly.
I do like both Wonderland's Wars and Paint the Roses.
Alice in Wonderland has been in public domain worldwide for about 75 years, so...yes. Longer even than Cthulu, Dracula or Sherlock Holmes.
Project L would be the first polyomino game I would show people.
Still not tried that one or even seen it up close.
Who came here from the podcast?
This game is still not widely available.
More in the UK and Europe I guess. Hopefully the US will pick it up.
@@TheBrokenMeeple well, Australia, but yeah I think it's not avail in US also.
