Hey what’s up Adam👍🏽I just wanted to let you know you are using all the right methods to clean the belt, but before you even start it’s important to use an air can to blast off any and all dirt particles that are in the details of the plates because if you don’t you’re essentially dragging all those particles across the metal with the cloth and causing unwanted scratches. It's actually better to use spray wax for cars on belts. You'll get a much better shine and the wax will also add a protective layer. I've been cleaning my belts for years windex will eventually ruin the finish of the gold

Hey bro, I ordered 5 brass replicas from pakistan cuz I wanted the wwf symbol. Can they be cleaned the same way? My black IC is getting new stains from seemingly nowhere. I even sewed bags 4 each one and put a pack of silica beans inside. Please help me if u can!!!!

I don't think I hav the right cloth either. It'll give me something to do after work tomorrow. At least the main plate is still that classic block design the greats wore. The experts before me, always said ammonia free, and I don’t know if ammonia does anything to the belt, but I’ve only used ammonia free, so I’d recommend not using windex with ammonia just in case.
Make sure to use a microfiber clothe so you don’t scratch the plates and just take your time it won’t take long because if you rush it you could break off a piece

Yah use the ammonia free windex with a micro fiber cloth and maybe some water too if it’s a lot of dust and dirt but rub carefully so you don’t scratch them too much.

That’s oxidation and unfortunately not fixable. The price to replate them is more expensive than a new belt. Sorry. :(

Does the Windex have to be ammonia free
I’ve been told to only use ammonia free and that’s all I use and I have not had any issues, so I HIGHLY recommend using ammonia free.
