Here Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace remembers his teacher and mentor Lloyd Knibb, the man who created the "Ska" beat and pioneered the "Rocksteady" and "Reggae" sound.

Lloyd was the Best Man at my friends wedding.

Lloyd taught all of my groups drummer for free. Amazing player sweet man. Listen to the drumming on some of the Allsonians material like Dr. Che Guevara. Mariachi Go Ska and Homeward Bound all Knibb influenced! Saw him 3 days before he passed when he was in the hospital here near Boston. So sad to see him that way!
