My girlfriend (who cares nothing for football cards, but is supportive of my hobby) was intrigued enough by the “cost to pull a kaboom” concept that she stopped playing with her cats and gave your video her full attention. Very informative (and sobering) production. One thing missing, however: no comments pining for Stroud’s jock strap this time around.
I saw where Sky B pulled one today out of 1 mega. Then another video he pulled 1 out of 3 megas and did it one more time. He's pulled 3 from retail from this years Absolute. That's just insane luck. I've spent so much freaking money on Absolute and Optic and still have never hit a Kaboom or Downtown lol. But one day hopefully
I actually just had an insane spree of Kaboom luck myself. I only break fat packs, and I hit a 2021 Dak Kaboom on my very first $15 fat pack two wks ago. Decided to keep running, bought a 2021 fat pack box and hit a Waddle rookie Kaboom on pack 7. No sh*t, 2 Kabooms in 8 fat packs.
I absolutely love this type of video! I have “feelings” about products just based on my limited opening experiences and these type of videos most often validate my feelings. Hopefully, with increased transparency from videos and posts like this, product makers will find a way to make the product more fun/value in relation to price. Not Panini of course, they have shown no propensity to take care of their customers but hopefully Topps/fanatics does a better job.
I'm worried topps/fanatics be like, consumers keep buying boxes even tho panini shafting them, why would we do it any different? Our directors and stakeholders want $

There is so much focus on how much value there is in a box & rightlfuly so but I wonder how it compares to a card co.’s cost for producing the box. A lot of the card value is based on performance & popularity of the players in the product but none of that changes the production costs, wages, licensing & distribution. It would be an interesting comparison if it were possible.
Back in September of last year, I pulled a AR Kaboom from a blaster I bought at my LCS. Although I’m happy to say I traded it at my LCS for a PSA 10 Mahomes rookie, part of me wishes I had kept it because chances are I’ll never pull another 😂
Hey guys I actually bout 8 loose packs at target of 20cards per pack well I hit a drake maye kaboom from a loose pack sold it to the shop for 1000 so u don’t have to spend a lot of money to hit a kaboom just luck from a loose pack of absolute that like a one in a million to find one in a loose pack
Man I been getting hit horribly bad from my local card shop and Walmart and target with absolute mega hobby and mega from Walmart also blasters 😢😢😢 mosaic has not been my friend from both megas and blasters haven't even pulled a 100 card yet 😢😢😢it's a weird hobby these days good luck thanks for the info I might stop chasing the kaboom already really over them
After 2 blasters of Absolute i was like NOPE! im done with absolute lol. But decided to give it another chance and got 1 from Bestbuy (the only 1 left on the shelf). Boy am I glad i bought it. Pulled a Caleb Kaboom! Sigh. Was thinking to myself i should go buy more but after watching many videos on yt, i think i am done with this product lol. saw many mega and hobby box videos and it was bad!

So my conclusion is, if you like kaboom, just buy one, do not expect to pull one from retail (I saw ppl pull no kaboom or explosive from 1 case of blaster). But if you like ripping, hobby is the best choice, join group breaks buy commanders or buy a sealed case.
Absolute, Mosaic or Panini Prizm is all the same...the Sportscards Hobby is insane...Panini is pricing to Demand, so we are the reason why the Absolute Hobby is $500-600/Box. The Collectors are paying up for Hobby and cleaning out Retail everywhere around me -- Expected Value doesn't seem to matter. Since the Pandemic, the Hobby has been transformed into a Lottery Ticket mentality! 😂🏈🤓
I just look at people who break these boxes and think what a load of thrill seeking degenerates who don’t have the smarts to work out what a bad idea opening boxes is.
For me, this year’s absolute retail is damn hard to pull a kaboom. Bought 2 blasters and no kaboom. When I go to see TH-cam retail box ripping video, I remember I saw no kaboom pulling out. Last year only bought one blaster and it give me 1 kaboom, and I do remember I see there is lots of ppl pulled kaboom on TH-cam. But this year hobby is better than last year, ppl pulled a lot gold and green kaboom and explosive from hobby. I have already saw JD green explosive and green vertical kaboom now. And they came from the same breaker.
So you're saying there's a chance. Lol. Outside of breakers, I don't understand why anyone would buy Absolute. Even wanna be flex TH-camrs are only buying retail. Chasing the pink elephant always leads to a letdown.

Ngl I just pulled a Brock Bowers kaboom out of a 55 dollar Walmart box (which I partially used a gift card on), and now realize how lucky I was lmao.

Bought 2 packs of absolute football 2024 and pulled a CJ Stroud Kaboom.

I plan on it. I'm waiting for the day when the hobby is classified as gambling and gets regulated by state/federal government.
