Outer Banks: One Day in Nags Head

- The Outer Banks of North Carolina has long been one of our favorite travel destinations. On a recent late summer trip to the OBX (as the area is popularly nicknamed), we spent the final day of a three day visit in the town of Nags Head. This town is a popular attraction for tourists due to not just its beautiful beaches, but also its high concentration of restaurants, shops and attractions. (Pro tip: the town of Nags Head is even the location of the only hospital in the Outer Banks.) We had one day to enjoy the beaches and the town. We share the highlights with you here.

We love Nags Head and the Outer Banks. Thanks for sharing! My brother’s good friend (Andy) owns the Nags Head Fishing pier and we try to stop by whenever we have a chance - great breakfast.
We have a Duck Donut in Lynchburg. The Key Lime Donut looked great. Very nice ropes course. Love a good beach day and a walk on a pier. Looks like a fun-filled day!
This is truly my home away from home. I love Nags!!! Simply no place like home!!
Oh and that walkway is the absolute best place to watch the sunset...
Duck’s Donuts is a must-stop for us when TCB in Daytona. 🍩🍩🍩They have a few tables at ours and I like the key lime donut, as well. Yummy!😋
Kenny keeps saying he wants to visit the east coast beaches when his work in Phoenix comes to an end. That’s my Jersey boy. 🥰 I’ll be checking back w your videos when we go! They’re always so informative. 🙌🏼

This looks like such a nice, chill place to visit, with genuine beach town vibes. Duck Donuts is always a welcomed treat. Much better than Doodoo Doughnuts. 💩 I plan to work with that on my next Universal video. Lol! I wasn't aware that they are originally from that area. The adventure park looks like a blast. I also thought the trail looked like a nice hike. Good that the butterfly was able to pencil you in and make a cameo appearance. The beach shops and candy look great as well. That's so cool how you pick up Christmas ornaments from all your travels. It gives meaning to your tree decorations. I think we should start doing that as well, now that I've moved past stocking up on alcohol everywhere we go. 😂 Hope you are having an

Duck donuts looked awesome, thats right up our alley, and that ropes course looked fun, my oldest son and I would love it. My husband and youger son would not, they are land lovers as well 😂 What a lovely beach, I want to visit there!! We went many years ago when kids were small, so they dont remember and they said they want to go back after watching your video 😂
This si the kind of spot that you could happily spend your entire day! It looks like such a tranquil and relaxing beach to find yourself on, and even the water looks so wonderfully inviting too! Perfect for a warm summer's day!

A doughnut shop that is like a Subway? Count me in! We don't have those yet in this part of the country. I thought the Adventure Park looked like a lot of fun, but then again I kind of like that kind of stuff. The tiki bar at Nags Head looked really nice as did the beach and I haven't seen a Ben Franklin store for years! The nature preserve looked like a lovely place to hike. Thanks for the tour! 😊
Oh yes! I've had duck donuts, pretty good! Nags head does look like a surfers paradise.. time for some retail therapy! They even have a Christmas themed store, cool! Some good hiking spots there too.. thanks for the tour guys!

You HAVE to go up Jockey’s Ridge. It’s one place the whole family (40+ people, ranging from ages 11 to 70) go to every 3 years at the family reunion!!

Duck Donuts...fresh??? Choose toppings?? Yes, Please!!!! Looks amazing. What a beautiful beach and I'd love to walk the pier and the trails in the preserve. You had me at Christmas shop, I now have two travel trees!! So glad other people do that. OMG, I used to go the Ben Franklins with my grandmother. I've never been to the outer banks but your videos make me want to go! Hope they are doing ok with all the rain it looks like they may get from the hurricane.

I don't think we have any Duck Donuts near us, but we would love to try some. Since we don't dangle up in the air either we'll sit with you Alice and enjoy them. But what? No drunkenness and profanity in the Pier Restaurant? Well we'll just take our worms and move on! Capt. Andy's sounds much more friendly. Enjoyed the seeing Christmas Store, but loved Nags Head Woods. Yes Alice a Go Cart and Mini Gold sounds like good fun to me too. It is great seeing the surfers. Awesome Christmas shop. Some great shops, especially that chocolate shop. I have not heard of Duck Donuts. We will have to keep an eye out for them. Good choices. 😂😂. Just watching. The beach didn’t seem too crowded. We like going out on pries too. You can really get great views from them. Retail therapy. Now you’re talking. The Christmas Mouse would be a definite stop for me. Oh my gosh, Ben Franklin. There aren’t many of them left. I had one in my hometown, but no longer. I didn’t think I liked taffy, but discovered that wasn’t true. 😂. But I’d still prefer the chocolates. The preserve looked really nice. Tamer seems better. LOL. Jack likes to scope new things out before he tries them. Now that we have watched other people on the zip lines and ropes courses there, I imagine he will be ready to give it a try next time we are in town. I am the same way... no adventure park for me. But I do enjoy a day at the beach. And those donuts are nice too. This day at the beach made me want to learn to surf too. That may be better left to the young ones as well though. Thanks for watching - and for taking the time to comment!

So we have a little bit of hot take... we don't care for Duck Donuts! Look at all the surfers! We love a good Christmas store! I never have had Salt Water Taffy but it doesn't sound like it would be any good LOL!!
WHAT?!?!? Just joking. I just think Duck Donuts are ok myself. Jack likes them a lot. Krispy Kremes are definitely my favorites. I don't care for Dunkin Donuts at all - but their coffee is on point! If you have ever had Laffy Taffy or any regular kind of taffy, salt water taffy tastes like that. There is no actual salt water in it... though there is water and a small amount of salt included in the recipe. Thanks so much for watching our escape to the Outer Banks. We appreciate your support!
