    In this video Ryan and I catch some early morning turns at Breckenridge and talk a little bit about what makes a snowboard good for carving. A positive camber profile is going to provide the snowboard with more energy and snap, a stiffer flex will give you more stability and carry you through higher speed turns without washing out, and a wider snowboard will give you the ability to lay over turns more aggressively. Ryan also points out that you can carve and make clean lines with any snowboard, but these things will allow you to progress and try carves you may not be able to on other snowboards.

    Great video! It's nice to see a mention for Jones - they are great boards albeit a little more situational than some, but I am a big fan of the company and Jeremy's outlook on conservation and minimising footprint while manufacturing them! Also, TJ - where can we get some of those sweet BA stickers???? we need to represent in the Alps!!

  • @LeoHMIII
    @LeoHMIII 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A couple years ago, I researched boards for a month, before I bought mine. I was not only looking at waist width, but also nose, tail, and radius, and then calculating what the width at the bindings would be... Got the widest board that I could find, but still can't quite lay it all the way over, without dragging toe. 😒 I remember watching one of Ryan's videos about him getting custom made boards, but I couldn't afford that.. 😭😭 Size 13 feet! Damn yoouuu!

    They forget to mention: the board has to be strong against twisting. A 200 pound border got easily 600pound pressure on the edges. A salami board will not stand the pressure, it will twist and you are down. Strongest boards in that way are swoard (Switzerland).

    Worked great on about 6"-8" of average snow starts to struggle a bit past 8". th-cam.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN Very light weight and the chute spin control works well. For the low price you get a ton of value. My only complaint is managing the cord as it does take a fair bit of effort to watch and pull the cord out of the way. I found myself having to whip the cord out of the way a lot when I needed to make one way passes to mange the blow direction. It's less of an issue when you can work both directions. A battery powered version would be a lot easier to handle but that is also double the price and requires battery care. I chose the corded version so I didn't have to worry about batteries but I do now see how much work the cord is. I let my neighbor borrow it and it outperformed his smaller gas blower, he was totally sold. Very pleased with the power and operations.My only suggestion is to spend a bit more on a cordless version if you have budget for it. The cord is a bit more of a headache than I thought it would be. Very pleased with the Snow Joe brand and quality.
