    Thanks for this Luke.
    I just got a T25 a few days ago and its in a nice condition, but needs a good looking over, so now I know what goes where.
    The eastern stuff works a little different from the western stuff I've been working on all my life, so this is a massive help.

    My tractor looks exactly like the T25 to me. It was bought new by the previous owner at a dealership in York, South Carolina around 1989. Thanks for the good information on the hydraulic pump. I have thought about making a video on lowering and raising the tractor but it looks like spacers are needed for the low position which I don't have.

    That's a great idea for the next video. When I bought my tractor, I couldn't figure out how to drive it either. Basically the shifter works like this - The lever furthest away from you when seated on the tractor is Forward to the left and Reverse to the right, with a neutral central. The lever closest to you has 2 functions. At the top of the shift pattern (closest to the other lever) is the range selector. High range is to the left, and low range is to the right. (continued below)

    Hi Luke, nice job on the videos. I have a 250 from the late 80's very similar to yours. I recently took apart the hydraulic filter at the back of the tractor which was quite clogged up. The filter is made up of 10 stacked screen elements. My information says to wash them off and reassemble but some of mine seem to be damaged (torn or missing screen). The elements do not seem to be available from online parts dealers. Have you ever dealt with this issue? Any ideas?

    love the videos and i also have a belarus 250. I learned a lot from you and i surely hope you post more. There are some fixes for some things like the the steering, by shortening the steering arm will help it steer a lot better an easier. A video on this would be fantastic. Thanks for all that you do. I am going to the field tomorow to see if i can get my 250 started, it cut off for no reason, then started for a few secs and idled down and now i cant get it back going. Presumably a fuel issue, i

    Appreciate the overview as I just recently acquired a 1987 250 2WD with a front bucket. I do have to replace some hydraulic lines on it though. The previous owner removed them all as deteriorated without marking where they go. Do you know of anywhere I can get a schematic or drawing of these orientations/positions? I do not want to install them incorrect and risk blowing seals!?

    Luke, I have a Belarus 250 as I wanted to ask you a question about.
    My 3-point stopped lifting and I notice the hydraulic pump has no fluid when I backed out the level fill check plug, should it have fluid? if so how do you fill it?
    The hydraulic reservoir is full and fluid pumps freely out of the bypass valve in the hydraulic distributor, I took off the hydraulic pump inspection plate and the pump is engaged, he lift cylinder only moves up about an but inch you can manually pull the lift up without an implement on when the lift distributor is engaged.
    Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated!

    Below the range selector you have a choice of 4 gears in that range. I use the two gears on the right side most often. The top right gear is low gear, great for boxblading, but is forward only, The bottom right gear is a great gear for just moving around, not too fast and I use it for cutting grass or just moving the tractor around the yard. You have to depress the clutch and be at a complete standstill before changing gears (no shift on the go) and make sure the hand-brake is released.

    I was given a Belarus 250 tractor and motor wise it runs GREAT but, the previous owner told me that when you push in the positave traction it wont move like its not in gear and that you can manualy rock the back wheels and get it to engage to go back into gear, any ideas where to start looking to solve the problem?

  • @southronjr1570

    I modified my fuel pickup tube by adding about 6 inches of copper by brazing it on, bending it 90 deg and making a bunch of small holes down the bent section and crimping the end almost closed to create a type of pre filter and allow the fuel to continue to be picked up if one or two happen to get clogged.
    Also, you dint have to use clean oil in the air filter, it doesnt have to lube anything, it just needs to catch the dust and debris, I usually over fill mine by about an inch with the motor oil that came out of the engine when I change the oil after thoroughly cleaning it out. There is also a cleanable filter above the oil bath that will clog, soaking it gas over night then blowing it out with an air nozzle usually fixes it, just be sure to let it dry in the sun for a few hours before you reinstall.

    Luke great videos . I have a 250as also. You mentioned using general hydraulic oil in the reservoir. On my unit it says motor oil only. I was wondering have you had a problem because I would like to be able to rent hydraulic implements but cant partially because of the oil difference

    • @hardingluke01
      @hardingluke01  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will be ok to change to a universal hydraulic/trans fluid. The reason the sticker says motor oil only is to keep the operator from putting diesel fuel in there..... yes really. Motor oil was used in a lot of tractors instead of hydraulic fluid because it was easier to obtain than hydraulic fluid and kept things simple. Instead of 3 fluids you just needed 2, diesel and oil. The fact is that the universal hydraulic fluid you can buy today at any farm store or walmart is far superior to anything that was on the market 30 years ago, and the research that caused the manufacturer to put that sticker on your tractor was based on what was widely available at that time. Also, you do not want a detergent oil in your hydraulics and it is hard to find a genuine non-detergent motor oil.

  • @hardingluke01
    @hardingluke01  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    To get started, move the gear selector all the way to the top and push it right for low range. Then move the gear selector back to the center and to the bottom right for 2nd gear (really this is the first gear that has forward and reverse). Then move the other lever (the one closest to the steering wheel) all the way to the left to select forward. Release the handbrake (down) and let out the clutch and you should be good to go. Thanks for the comment.

In manual hydraulic pump is meant to be disengage only if you don't use it for a long time, so its more fuel-efficient and wouldn't worn pump up so quickly. Parts manual shows the RS502 starter relay under the instrument panel on the right side of the dash. Looks like a rectangular box. Should be silver color with red or black wires coming out of it. I looked at the various online sources and the relay is widely available. Check the connections before you order the relay. They may have just vibrated apart or corroded off.

      Both of mine have had this problem at one time, I posted my fix just a few minutes ago, basically the pickup tube is getting clogged and when it dies, the debris will fall out. I say usually because on my first one, I would clear the pickup tube on the tank and after a minute it would clog again. I drained the fuel and it still did it, turns out I had developed algae in the tank and had to take the whole thing off and clean it out. Also disassembled the first stage fuel filter and there is a screen mesh cone inside the bowl he mentioned, I took it off and it was almost clogged up with algae too. My modification was to extend the pickup tube by brazing on about 6 more inches of copper line, bent it 90 degrees so it would be paralel with the bottom of the tank and about 1 in off the bottom, crimped the end almost closed and drilled a bunch of small hole all around the bent section of the extension creating multiple pickup points in the line and creating a sort of pre filter for the pickup tube. This way if one of the holes gets clogged there are several otheres clear to allow fuel flow. It hasnt given me problems since but I do drain the tank fairly regularly now also to get the debris and water out.

    At the end of the service manual section title "Ground Clearance Setting" I see the following: "NOTE: Special fender spacers are required to place the tractor in the low profile position" I think the problem is that the fenders would rub the rear tires without some type of body lift spacers.

    • @southronjr1570
      @southronjr1570 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can fairly easily bend them up to clear the tires, I lowered mine and was "lucky" enough to have had a "friend" borrow the tractor right before I lowered it and she backed it into something that ended up ripping the right fender off entirely and bashing the left into a crumpled heap. Yeah, we dont talk any more.

    The 30 mm bolt to the left of the primer plunger should be removed and let the fuel runout . It is the governor fore the injection pump. As time goes by the fuel settles with contaminates and will cause the tractor to run poorly or just quit. It is very simple to do. I had to drain it three times to get my tractor to run properly.

    Make sure you follow the procedure as I show at 11 minutes into the video. You need to prime until the fuel blows with no air, but this shouldn't take more than a dozen or so pumps. If you are getting no fuel and just air, you may need to check the pickup tube for blockage in the tank. Also check the the primary and secondary filters to see if they are dry or have fuel by opening the drain plugs. Thanks for the comment!

    So Hi again Luke from Quebec, Canada, Snowing lightly today..
    Just to let you know maybe you allready know this , when you remove your Diesel pump you got to time your tractor before doing so .
    Or you will be in deep trouble but with a good mecanic with a couple of hours it's is possible to refind the timing, Cause there is no indication of the degre's setting for it and no mecanic to repair Belarus setting with covers of valve removed position top
    and to finish this pump has a refill of oil and it must be change or/and refill at every 200 Hours
    Or will cost you around 2000.00 canadian for rebuilt & repair Hum
    So check it's oil on top the midle plug there's a degre clock you put you oil by there,
    There is a nut on top of this pump in it a dial on top of it slowly and the refill (over flow) nut is on the left of the bottom , when it leaks it's full same oil as the motor.
    and don't forget your maual pump must be working
    free info just replace mine with all of above , not quite finished after 15 weeks ,
    Have a nice day to all belarus tractors T25 / 250 XX

    Hi, great video, but a lot of false information about oils. You can find USA Belarus 250 manual online and will find out that, for example, oil for final drive is ordinary gearbox gl-5 oil (in Russia it was tad-17). You can find a lot of information in Russian, if you search т25 трактор. Also manufacturer actually is not Belarus, but it is made in Russia factory called втз
