Yea, on sale often enough. Price is therefore about $100 higher for the Cotopaxi. Worth it IMO.
I got the original, same color and I’ve loved it so far.
I also went to Scotland 🏴 ❤ and I’ve taken it to Guatemala 🇬🇹 under the rain with my laptop inside, nothing got wet.
Even though the original is super expensive I’d buy it again from Cotopaxi. I bought quality and I got it.

I KNOW, I was looking back at this the other day (after I took it on my trip and discovered all of its capabilities) and couldn't believe they were there ! So incredible what that bag does, but that price point sure does sting alittle lol

The COR Surf Travel Backpack is a good dupe too. Kinda between those two in terms of price.
I would happily buy a dupe BUT I want stowable backpack straps. I'll also mention I'm 60 and have been using the same Eagle Creek suitcase (with stowable straps) for 30 years; only issue with Eagle Creek pack is it's heavy duty ballistic nylon and empty weight is over 7 pounds.
Thank you so much for this video! My husband and I are traveling for the first time in 5 years this November. We really want to avoid bringing checked bags and that's what brought me to this review. For how infrequently we travel, it just doesn't make sense to drop $300 each on a new travel bag, especially when we could get two dupes for less than the price of one Cotopaxi.

original , it lasts longer. you dont want to run the risk of the alternative breaking down.
Just find the original with the best sale price. Don’t know if Coto sells used gear.

Great review thanks a lot. Just wondering the quality and comfort of the shoulder strap in the dupe black one as you know it is an extremely important feature for backpacking. Thanks in advance for your comments.
I have not had the opportunity to test the straps for an extended period of time (I used it for a weekend trip to test it out) BUT from that period of time that I did use it, it was comfortable and didn't give me any sort of back or shoulder pain. I packed light for the trip, though, so the weight of the bag may play into the strain it puts on you as you're wearing it

I bought an allpa duffel and have been considering getting the backpack instead (might not be able to return it though lol). The only thing for me is I am a big dude so my clothes are pretty big lol and I also carry a travel pillow and towel lol as I hate hotel stuff lol. This does seem a bit small compared to the 70 L duffel but maybe Ill check out the dupe first

Yes people still walked off with my darker blue bag.. how is that!!! I ended up buying xtra clothes as winter and leaving them and lptop as couldnt get them in... then usb with all photos busted sadly .on return journey ...had to take so many meds etc and thick tights. Last trip did not encounter all that lol it s a challenge
OH NO!!😱 That does not sound like a fun time... I've never had anything that bad happen... yet😅🤞🏻 I will always choose the bright colors specifically for this reason 😂
for the amazon dup, are the zippers ykk or lockable?
The zippers have the same locking mechanism as the cotopaxi, but they aren't as secure feeling in my opinion. Essentially you have to thread the zipper through the cloth bit on the side to open the bag. But that also means you have to remember to put your zippers inside that bit when you pack up.

Buying fake/bootleg gear disrespects the original brand while fueling the BS one. But if it breaks down Coto will still likely fix it
