Apnea Walks - Hold Your Breath and Walk for a Longer Breath Hold

  • When we walk we are using a lot of the same muscles that we use when we put on fins and kick around in the water and our upper bodies are relaxed just like when we freedive. Our walking pace is very similar to the pace at which we kick our fins. All we need to do is hold our breath and we can very closely simulate a freedive on land. Thats why apnea walks are a great way to work on extending our breath holds. A freedive is a dynamic apnea, meaning that we are holding our breath and moving. As long as we implement proper safety then we can use this method for achieving a longer breath hold, and the beauty of it all is that it only takes a couple minutes per day and you can incorporate it into your daily routine.
