@@marksinger5954 let’s get into this. to start, a quirk isn’t something bad. dual recording is indeed very important. All the cameras I compared it to also have dual card slots and dual recording capabilities. EXCEPT for video 😲this is one area where canon is very much behind other brands. Even so, the only people who benefit from CF compatibility are those who have had older, likely canon, cameras with CF cards. Anyway thanks for the feedback and I’ll remember next time to mention absolutely every last detail known to man 😉
Awesome video about the 5DMKIV. The 4K files are large given how it’s captured & stored. On the other hand, the 1080p is absolutely amazing. I use my 5DIV for video at times with my C100MKII. I found my 5DIV on the used market through a certified Canon distributor with warranty. Picked up an R6MKII for Christmas and it will carry most of the work. I plan to keep my 5DIV with its build quality. I’m a hobbyist looking to do more photography in the future. Thanks for the content.
My wife bought me one 4 years ago, my 5d M2 was stolen when I was in DC a few years before and it kind of forced me into a hiatus. I didn't really use it much for years because I was a little intimidated by it. The lenses that came with it were too tight, it felt too big and bulky for the eventual family stuff I tried to capture. But then the past few years I've been getting back into shooting again. First with film and then letting it sink in that I have an amazing digital camera with a nifty 50, it's going to waste just sitting around. And this past year in particular I've been putting it through it's paces. I got an older canon 24mm 2.8, and was playing with vintage lenses for a bit. But I think I'm ready to look at some fast L lenses and I recently got some flash to play with. Though I'd love some smaller cameras as everyday carries, or get enticed by Fujifilm X cams and how fun they seem... I really don't have any reason to get rid of this. Every time I look at specs for smaller cameras I think about what I gain or lose... and I love to let auto ISO go wild and see what happens, shoot from the hip, go a little nuts and have fun with a wide lens and a hope the AF and depth of field was good.
I go back to Canon when I was doing film. I still have my 5D MII and have a 5DM4 and just purchased a second one new for $1800 and will pick it up next week.
