- In this episode, not only do we round out our coverage of the Tearjerkers Mighty X3 gathering at the FD Roosevelt State Park in Georgia, but we also tour the nicest factory-built teardrop we have seen (8:55)! Although I’m partial to my own DIY teardrop, I must admit I was amazed at the build quality of the High Camp teardrop. The fit, the finish, the features, were all so impressive. I really like the bead board on the ceiling! I hope to do bead board when I build mine.

I love these videos to see all the unique features people build into their trailers! I especially like the first two because they are larger in size like mine I'm planning. I just got my propane stove/oven combo yesterday I'll be putting into the galley and I am so excited to have the luxury.

Wonderful tour and amazing DIY tear drops! We are a working farm family in New Hampshire and are outside in the elements all 12 months of the year. So we decided to find a cost effective tear drop that we could stand up in, with an inside kitchen. The Bushwacker Plus 15FK has 6'1" height in the center, with a wet bath and off road chassis. Still have the option of using our Coleman and campfire :-) Looking forward to picking her up in VT next week, in between haying. A tear drop gives us windows of opportunity to go camping or visit friends on a moment's notice. Happy camping everyone! ~ Diane

@@CampandCamera no problem. The NuCampers are made by the Amish, in stock and nice but for the XL Max boondock solar trim you're looking at around $22,000 clams. First mod I would do is rip out the microwave lol 😂

Hi, I love your channel. I had been trying to find the time and energy to build a teardrop but I have a very physical job. I saw your episode on the High Camp teardrop and my wife said, let’s just get one…so long story short, we did! We have not second guessed our purchase and have been camping in it all over the Southwest. Best trip so far was definitely Chaco Canyon! If you haven’t gone I suggest you check it out. Anyway thanks again! By the way I grew up in East Tennessee. Looking forward to getting back there sometime with my trailer.

you definitely need to look at a Camp Inn trailer! Then you will be blown away! Realizing that you did a review of Camp inn, I would like to know what makes you believe that the Highcamp is better made than the Camp Inn. I feel the opposite so would love to hear your reasoning! Thanks
I did a tour of one a couple years or so back.
Nice get together and great info from these builders. I find it so interesting there are so many of these being built. Obviously spending as much as much as 1/3 to half of what one would cost retail, just to build it at home. I'm really surprised at how many diy Tear Drop builders are traveling these days and pulling along down the freeways with a 45mph rated axle and hubs. Going 70mph. There must be consequences to this. However I did catch the one that had a different trailer rated for 3500. Which was awesome. And the High Camp with larger axle from manufacturer. I'm wondering if the 12 inch wheels installed on many of the frames being bought with a max speed of 45mph, are just being used regardless and they are working? I wonder if I should upgrade an axle for my specific Northern Tool $500 dollar frame trailer I'm going to buy. Or if perhaps there is a Tear Drop Trailer that is special made.

I find that many folks who buy a Harbor Freight or Northern trailer end up moving to a 13” wheel and replacing the bearings and/or hubs with higher quality ones. A big push recently is to either buy a welded utility trailer with a more robust axle and cut away the side rails, or find an old pop-up camper and reclaim the frame. I called a trailer manufacturer “Mastiff Trailers,” and had mine custom built and put on a 3,500lb axle with brake flanges. Cost was about the same as a Northern Tool trailer, maybe a little less.

Man wish I knew about . Just down road from us . That 1st how does his A/c work or what kind of A/C he use.
He uses a Climate Rite AC.

@@chucksandford9617 HI there Chuck, and Camp and Camera...I will be getting my High Camp trailer in April and I'm so excited!! I've been trying to decide about getting the add on side tent and have a question if you don't mind. I'm a little on the short side at 5'2" and wonder if I'm too short to get this all attached without much trouble. What is your experience so far getting this all set up? I like how you have the canopy over everything...think I'll invest in something similar! So glad to see this review! Thanks. :)
@@mariannedell8558 To attach the side tent you really only have to reach up to the base of the awning pocket which on my trailer is about 6’3” off the ground so you likely would not have any problems. The other three sides simply clip on to the bars which the awning stretches over. Check out ARB awnings here on you tube as well.

How safe in bear country ?
National Parks allow teardrops into bear areas where tents aren’t allowed.
Ask the $$ they put into them!

We went and checked out the High Camp Teardrops out and they do build an Awesome teardrop.
