The video of the American Dream is beautiful. I have been serving in our great military for the last 24 years and continue. And this tartan hit home. I love this country, and I believe so many have forgotten what we represent! God Bless America!!

My family is from South East Ohio. As far as I can find, my 5x grandfather fought for the continental army, his son, 1812, his son, the civil war, my grandfather in Korea and myself in the most recent war in Iraq. My direct lineage may not have fought in each war but their brothers did. From lowly farmers in the SE hills of Ohio, and have spilled plenty of blood for this country. I have been blown away at how our family has grown and expanded across the US. The US is truly a land of opportunities and dreams.

Well.....I wasn't going to order any more Kilts in the near future. I have 14. Just saw it at the Celtic Classic in Bethlehem, PA. The pictures do not do it justice. I now need another kilt. Will be ordering very soon.

My first ancestors arrived in Jamestown in 1609. This would be a perfect tartan for a Great Kilt for me.

You did an amazing job with the tartan. I don't think I've ever seen a red and blue tartan didn't look purple where the colors cross. The American Dream tartan is a winner!

In my case, My Scots history starts in 1863 when 3 members (two brothers and a sister) of the Rutherford clan (family) stepped off the ship from Edinburgh onto Ellis Island. Their names were inscribed on the wall there before they traveled to what is now called White Plains, NY. There is a museum there that holds several relics they brought over with them, one of which is a silver tea set. Still there! My Maternal grandmother was a second-generation descendent from them. Her husband's ancestors came over much earlier, long before Ellis Island was initiated. When his name was recorded as McMayhill in error due to not hearing the name through the accent, It has been guessed the name was actually McMichael instead. Both families were thought to be Low Land Scots but grandpa's family might be Highland based.

The tartan looks fantastic!!!! I'll have to start saving to get my 2nd kilt in this American Dream tartan:) My Scottish / German heritage goes back in America to the 1700's, we fought in every war and we're still working to fight the good fight...because The USA is worth it!

Beautiful! ❤ On one side, my earliest family arrived here in 1648, and on the other, I’m first generation, which makes that the immigration story I know best. My maternal grandmother left Northern Ireland for work, lived in London through the blitz putting detonators in bombs, and met my grandfather in the tubes while he was stationed at Lakenheath during Korea. My mom was born in London, and when his service ended, they moved to his hometown in the Midwest.

Beautiful tartan, and much less garish than the Bicentennial tartan. Which I own and wear proudly, since I'm just old enough that the loud 1970s aesthetic kind of speaks to happy childhood memories. I grew up hearing stories from my grandparents about our ancestor, who was a general and a war hero in the Revolutionary War. I came to learn as an adult that actually he was a colonel and a war hero in the French and Indian War, but a Loyalist in the Revolution. In the end, he fled first to Canada and then to England, and the Connecticut legislature passed a law divorcing him from his wife and children (he had married into an influential, otherwise they'd have had to flee into exile too). Not that I would do this, as despite my ancestor's service to the Crown, I happen to think the good guys won the Revolution, but what would be an appropriate tartan if one wanted to pay respect to Loyalist heritage in the War of Independence? Maple Leaf, since Loyalist exiles played such a foundational role in British Canada? Black Watch? Is there a tartan associated with the Hanovarian monarchy?

Beautiful tartan. My ancestors I know about came from the British Isles with one Dutch and one Cherokee. The only one I know about how they got here was a Sharpe (Clan Stewart). He was a Presbyterian who left Scotland in the 17th century to escape religious persecution according to a couple books I've found. He first went to Ireland and then to Maryland in the good ole USA. He had children who branched out to the south. I'm in NC. Wish I knew which part of Scotland. My surname is Keever (Clan MacIver).
Also Hines and Warren surnames, who are found mostly in England but also in Scotland and Ireland and the names came over to British Isles during the Norman conquest. The Hines lineage was traced to Virginia but too many of the same name to trace further.
My great grandfather Warren went west in mid 19th century with a group from this area, made it as far as Oklahoma and married a Cherokee woman. He and at east several of the group came back to NC. Not sure how long they stayed.

It's absolutely beautiful. Per the records, Manassah Lamb first entered the US census in 1725. From North Carolina into Kentucky ending up in the Republic of Texas, the Lamm family ends with me. Unless my daughters hyphenate.

I like this one much more than the Ameerican Heritage. I think it's the subtle color variants with the gold stripe.

The MacGregor side of the fam came over to NY and the then to Massachusetts in the late 1780s. My grandfather was a Iwoa farm kid who got sent back to England during WWII. And he found out that our ppl where indeed sent out. LOL He repeated the behavior In 1918 when he beat the guy that was going to marry his love( her parents didn't like my grandpa, for obvious reasons) and the sheriff told him he could wait to see if the guy recovered and it didn't look good, or go into the Army. Ha! He retired a Srgt Major from the US Air Force.

Would the American Dream tartan cloth be available for purchase as just cloth? Something for people working with personal projects that aren't necessarily clothing or table runners?

I love this tartan. The commercial you made is top notch as well. I'm an avid hockey fan and have decided that this tartan is perfect for Panthers games. Are you planning on weaving this tartan in PV? I live in South Florida and light weight is a must. I have a casual kilt that I'm constantly being complimented on, thanks for that as well.

  • @BCSchmerker
    @BCSchmerker 2 ปีที่แล้ว

+USAKiltsOfficial *I'm come from three general races: Celts, Germans, and Japanese.* The surname _Гchmerker_ is German in origin, a Pfälзiſch trade-name for a _Vorfreſſer,_ or sewer; most likely from Rheinland-Pfalз (DEU) via the _Deitſchland_ region of Pennsylvania (USA). One of the Celtic roots is from one o' the _ua Wailh_ septs from Eire (IRL; have to trace to a point of entry); the other, almost certainly from a retainer sept o' the Barony of Carmichael in Norman Scotland (GBR), via any of the then-Provinces of New England before the War for Independence. The Japanese roots are later; I've yet to trace to, I am told, documentation pointing to families in both Peace-Poetry Isle (和歌山 Wakayama) and Broad Isle (広島 Hirosima) Prefectures on Root-Province Island (本州 ʜᴏɴsʏᴜᴜ), JPN.

I think this is great! Especially in lieu a push of anti-american on media platforms. This is great! With all our various backgrounds, we should find common grounds, and a brotherhood even in the fact that we are all Americans.
