Your hawkes should zoom in and out, shouldn't matter about the left right up down. I'd advise taking them back to the shop on your rifles and asking them to have a look in the shop. Hawkes do have good warranties if faulty.
@@mikecarter595 Thank you for your helpful advice. The zoom did work briefly on one of the Fast Mounts (now stuck on maximum [9]). The zoom on the other one has never worked, so I’m stuck on minimum (3). Could be a bad batch! I’ll take them back (on my Cometas). There’s always something! 🙄
Just for clarity. Both of my Hawke Fast Mounts are stuck on a single magnification (one on minimum magnification (3), the other on maximum (9)). When I release the locking screw and turn the magnification dial, nothing changes on either one 🤷🏻♂️ I haven’t yet reset the scopes to optical zero and tried the magnification dials. If that doesn’t work they’ll have to go back to the gunsmith’s (where they were purchased). I’m a little disappointed with these Fast Mounts to be honest! 😏
@ I hear that Hawke are good with customer care (if you have proof of purchase). I hoped that my Hawke Fast Mounts would get me up and running, without any problems. Some people really rate them (including my gunsmith). However, they are a cheap budget scope!
Return the Fastmount scopes (never heard of them having problems though) and get an Airmax 4-12x 40mm AO for your HW99. Alignment issues between scope rail and barrel (typically 'barrel droop') are common with break barrel springers and can cause problems with scopes running out of adjustment. There are ways around it eg packing the rear mount or fitting adjustable mounts, Weihrauch rifles are well made so you're unlikely to encounter the alignment issue. Sportsmatch one-piece mount or double screw mounts with an arrestor pin will give a rock solid base for your scope.
@@Beesa10 Thank you for your helpful advice. There’s a great deal to learn. I’m really looking forward to trying out my HW99S .22 when it arrives. Cheers 👍
@ You're welcome mate, air rifles are a great hobby/interest, there's so much to learn about it's effectively a whole subject. You're right about scopes ie it's better for them to be aligned and optically centred than at the extreme of their adjustment range, the double recoil of springers is punishing on scopes and can cause your zero to wander or completely shake the internals loose so look for specifically 'springer rated' or 'approved for spring gun use' etc in the specs. The forward part of the recoil is from the piston stopping at the end of the cylinder and can cause scopes/mounts to creep gradually rearwards if they're not well secured. The HW99 .22 is excellent, not overly big/heavy, full power and accurate!
I’m trying to describe “arrestor screws” on the scope mounts, & “arrestor drops/holes” within the rails at the rear of the compression cylinder (not barrel). Told you I’m a novice! 🫣 😬 😂
HW 99s, the only rifle you will ever need. Superbly accurate and handle great. Enjoy 👍🏻
❤

I have the same problem with a Hawke scope i bought with a 2nd hand rifle....perhaps Hawke will consider looking at the scope if posted to them?
