It's beautiful, but what about 4011 wifi? wave2 driver is still crooked and doesn't work with 2.4. Waited 3 or 4 years, and nothing. There is no wpa3 in the controller. And wait for ROS8 under AX and then another driver and this driver wait 5 years?
Really looking forward to this device. I hace a hap ac3 and it has been rock solid but the WiFi range is not very good, I'm only using it as a router with a couple of U6 Lite APs from UniFI

I really want to add the ax2 to my arsenal, but it is apparently prone to crashes on wifi6. Is this correct? If so, how long before the issue is fixed? I should add that I have been using mikrotik products for at least 7 years and have several mikrotik products. Been very happy with them all.

Really cool! I wonder if Wifi roaming will get to work properly anytime soon, so that I could install multiple devices around my big house without having to wonder of a single but powerful one would've been better.
Set your signal range in the access list of capsman to -75..0
That forces your devices to change access points if necessary.
Finally Mikrotik have WiFi6 it early than I expected haha
Excellent. Was just trying to find a cAP ac, but couldn't find any available. Now I know to wait for cAP ax2, and will also upgrade my RB5009UG+S+IN to RB5009UPr+S+IN because I'm running out of space and mains sockets in my networking cabinet. I've had a Ubiquiti UniFi 6 Lite access point but will sell it. I like your videos :)
Does MikroTik hAP ax² support 802.11 r/k/v band steering/roaming???
Support for 802.11r was added in a previous RouterOS v7 release, and support for 802.11k was added in 7.5beta
on wave2, but it currently can't be in CAPsMAN
No CAPsMAN support...

@@n3ttx580I agree but the reception would be better if actual hardware was available. I'm trying to get rb4011i with wifi and there's no stock anywhere, none of the stores know when will they become available. Even if there are deliveries they get traceable amounts.

Hap ax2 looks perfect , design is cool indeed. But why did you remove USB port ? Since you position this device as futher development of ac2 where USB port was available.
Will there be a way to connect antenna to this? I am planning on putting something like this in my lan closet, and would like to route an antenna set outside of it for better range in my house.
Unfortunately not, but we will have other AX models soon.
Rocking Hap AC2 without WIFI for about a year, It was excellent. Why not produce the none wifi version with 2.5g?

I love it but you guys won't impress me untill I see your lineup with 6E support. I hope they work well with CAPsMAN. The CAPsMAN experience on TILE is a true pain :')
So a quick update. After months of waiting I was finally able to lay hands over 2 precious hapax^2 units. Supplier complained that they were only delivered 20 pieces because of shortage.
Over the 2.4Ghz AX I was able to squeeze 180 Mbps in a highly congested environment with some channels utilized up to 95% ( wish youtube allows picture attachements).
Ove the 5Ghz AX I was able to transmit 890 precious Mbps in a low congestion environment. Speeds were sometimes a little shy of 960 Mbps.
Of course as mentioned earlier as of this date wave2 driver is still barebone but I see the changelogs.. 😏 I see initial support for capsman in cli 😁
Keep it up and I'll update my feedback here once better news are out 😁😘

Speeds above 800 Mbps (shows 750 on the screen ...) but on a gigabit link it should be 980 straight ... So, is this router suitable for 1 Gbps subscriptions?
it depends on the connection and it's utilization. Video shows real life speed test, in a real ISP situation, with other users sharing the connection, not sterile testing environment.
I had Hap AC + Cap AC, it was really cool for me for along time. Currently i moved to RB5009UG+S+IN + WIFI AX6 from other another manufacturer, since Mikrotik wifi was outdated(Capsman nice feature, but wifi5 ). Anyway mikrotik doing well job! Uptime for years.

So I just would replace the Wifi access point later with WiFi7
Grandstream also has inbuilt controller not like unifi so its pretty easy to deploy
Finally WIFI6! But no USB Port? Thatsnot cool, used it with my tethered Android as backup if my ISP has problems :(

Passive POE out isn't the best but usable in some cases, however, with all products that have this we need better than 12-30V DC input. Empower us with 48v so we can have passive 48v out!

@@mikrotik I have expected such an answer, but sadly - no. As much as hAP ac3 was NOT a replacement to hAP ac2, the new hAP ax3 is not a replacement to hAP ax2. Why to have 2 times as long router, if there is no single added eth port? Those a.3 routers could easily fit 10 eth ports. Also - both ac2 and ac3 have an USB port. Pity it got removed ....
You can't break physics. More power means more heat and also higher price. hAP ax3 does have USB :)
