- Today we answer a common question. How much money do you need as a reseller? This is something that varies person to person, but we discuss some of the ins and outs of everything to consider. If you're new here, we reference the "5 Levels of Sourcing", a little guide we created to give you an idea of where your reselling sourcing is at.

There’s a 0.0% chance Chase is above the age of 35 lol
Last I heard him say he was 28 so I think 29 at most
@@sevens8944 always add 10 years to your age so everyone thinks you look young for your age...
What accounting entries do you do when you add items to your collection? Also, do you store personal items in your game barn?
The question I wanted to ask but was afraid to ask thanks to Nerd Nation and thanks for being honest and answering it.
Chase should write a book
Great info, Chase. It's been awesome and inspiring to see you grow your business and follow along on the journey. Also, I'm proud to have been able to buy some of your items in the past. Great deals.
Love it. More of this. The more inside business discussions the better!
My journey took two years to go full resale. When I started I used my profit 50/50 to reinvest and pay off debt. Then once I had no debt I knew I wanted to go full time, so I saved a year of rent first before I had quit my job. That second year I would substitute teach part time and resell the rest of my hours.
This was a very informative and inspirational video dudes love it! Thanks for the content hope to run into you guys in MI peace!
That DS color is actually teal. I have this one.
Good questions by the camera man.
47? Man I’m here thinking you’re 27. I need to start flipping video games keeps you looking young
I was thinking 30 to 32 since he has always said he grew up playing the GameCube
He’s 31, he throws around his age on camera all the time lol
🤣 I thought I was hearing things
I went back and put captions on for this one haha
You will get to the six figures wish you luck with that love the content keep it up😊
I'm in the first group and I agree - I usually have between $100 and $200 on hand when I go out to garage sales.
What group would you put pallet buys into?
Chase can answer, but that would be closer to storage unit buyers that he mentioned in the video.
You make masterpieces now!
HEY, THIS IS RICK! You're the guy from the show, lol. That's all I could think of to say, ha. It was great to meet you, Matt! Thanks for the shout out! Hope to meet the rest of the crew soon!
Are your employees private contractors or do you pay all the insurance and workers comp?
what platform do you sell the most products on? eBay, WhatNot, Amazon or you're own store?
Probably Whatnot, then Amazon, then eBay. We don't have a physical store.
@@catrpcrew Thanks. What criteria do you use to decide where to list? I thought you had an online store. Thanks.
@@findinggadgets802 don’t know too much about EBay or Amazon, but Whatnot is more for liquidation, since it is a bidding process. Any high dollar or high value items would do way better as a “Buy It Now” price, like eBay or Amazon, rather than an auction.
@@catrpcrew is there a reason you guys don't sell on your own private site also? Would save more on fees than it'd cost on a shopify subscription
This is the problem. These people buy all tye shit and sell it for ridiculous prices. Screw yall
Okay, we found out how much we need to have as a resller, but what about a reseller?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
I love this kind of content. It keeps me inspired and ready to refine/grow my business.
I have a $2k minimum in my business account that I try to never go below and my stretch goal is $4k. I’ve had trouble getting there the last year as I’ve purchased an $18k private collection over the last year in $3k-$4k chunks. The seller of that collection wanted to go through every item (as the original owner had a bad habit of leaving gold jewelry in pockets) so it worked out great for me to be able to quickly sell enough to rebuild my cash reserves to buy more.
Level 3 is definitely where the rubber meets the road in growing a business, but it is a bit scary to shell out that kind of cash! I keep a spreadsheet of all costs and sales for the items from that collection so I know how much I’ve made. To date I’ve sold 440 items for $48k in sales.
How do you have emergency fund personally? I have trouble being in the positive every month.
do you guys see any uptick in views or retention when you post a video here and on the main channel on the same day? just a random thought i had was curious about...
That last question about how long it could take going from $100, another thing to consider with that number is going to be where you're at. I'm in Rapid City, South Dakota with a population something like 90,000. The amount of garage sales and thrift stores in my area are going to be smaller than in larger areas with more options.
What kind of stuff are you looking for? I’m in the area
@@lucasdotunderscoredotmagic I'm not much of a reseller, I was just making the comment of a difference of location can make it take longer to get to different tiers. Sure we have decent garage sales for awhile but the weather then shuts things down for more than half the year then we have Good Will, Salvation Army, and Club for Boys Thrift Store but sometimes not good pickings even when looking.
@@AmyBluesoula little advice it doesn't just have to be games lol ive made over 100k a year for last 8 years but thats selling anything that can make money if I stuck to just games especially when starting I would still be at beginning
@@Devante-qb5fk The only things I'm selling right now are things we have, in law's find that's worth selling, and other family members wanting me to sell their stuff. Has been movies, video games, belts, board games, dolls, figurines, etc.
@@AmyBluesoul yea u just gotta find those items that sell and can find consistently I made like 30k just off Ralph Lauren polo shirts my first 5 years of thrifting i would go to pound store wait for the bins to come and there would always be like 5 or 6 Ralph Lauren shirts I would put them in a lot of 4 or 5 sell for 60 and buy for like 3 bucks and did ever day for 5 years made 30k just off that item
You may not feel comfortable telling us but have you broke down your cogs into any meaningful categories? could you share those as a % of revenue?
hes not 47 LOL ive met chase before he's younger then me I'm 33
I'd say 30 to 32 just because he said he grew up playing the GameCube
Did he say he's 47
Hello! :D
Hello!
47, Nice Bluff
47? LOL .... is Chase even 30?
You ain’t 47 bro…
Thats a good looking 47yo 😅
Did you say your 47?
🧐🧐🧐🧐 :)
What’s your actual age? 47 is a lie.
$420
❤first🎉
Like this comment because I've sold my collections already 😢
Normally. I spend $2-3k garage saling.
On gold haha
You should make some videos bro I know I’m curious how you find and know what’s good jewelry lol I always run into tables of it but most of the time it’s older women stuff
@@EzCane Old Women stuff is the best stuff!
