DEMOLITION | Gold Kist Headhouse | 4K VIDEO

Controlled Demolition, Inc. (CDI) of Phoenix, Maryland, USA (acting as Explosives Subcontractor to Main Demolition Contractor, Complete Recycling & Demolition (CRD) of Ringgold, Georgia) performs the preparation for and explosives felling of a 125’ tall poultry feed Headhouse located next to a railroad main line that passed through in Calhoun, Georgia on September 15, 2023. CDI's role was to rotate the structure away from the railroad right-of-way and bring it within reach of the Contractor's excavators to perform secondary demolition and debris processing at grade.

It is clearly different from previous images. The above-ground part appears to have collapsed, but the underground part is odd for a foundation. It would be interesting to see footage of underground digging. It's time for a change at CDI, from destruction to excavation and discovery.・・・・・😀😀😀

Dumb question: why was it toppled like a smokestack or water tower, rather than imploded straight down (as is typically done with buildings). Was there something about its construction that made implosion on its own footprint impossible or undesirable?

beautiful shot but i can see the customer was cheep with the money, i know if they wanted to break it up more C.D.I.could have turned that concrete box into a pile of rock if they wanted to pay for it. now they will have to pay another company to break it up . pay me now or pay me later .lol
