- EEEP. THE Lisa Eldridge HERSELF sent me three of her new palettes. The other two are ON THEIR WAY. We are doing a first impressions today of Sorcery, Cinnabar and Muse, but don't fret; there will be many more videos about these palettes as I get to know them, culminating in a video where I share my ideal 6-pan.

I just wanted to congratulate you on getting 3 palettes gifted by Lisa. That says a lot about your content and your community. I "like" but seldom comment, and it's a big deal for her to gift new products, especially to non-UK based people. I'm waiting on a rather large order myself, including 4 palettes, specifically because I realized I actually need daily wear, grab and go kinds of color stories. I have a lot of makeup, but as I'm getting older, I'm starting to think maybe, just maybe, everyday doesn't need a foiled duo chrome and a glitter!😉 Nice review, you looked fabulous!😊

Everything you said from about 30:15 thru 31:42 is SPOT ON. Those of us on TH-cam (not just creators but many viewers) have gotten so cynical and overly critical of every release-and rightly so seeing as we are getting bombarded with new releases faster than a blink of an eye. We are consuming so much makeup that I think many of us do need to take a step back and think about the average makeup consumer who may look at this release as something really special and unique. I, for one, already own a lot of makeup and am still really excited about this collection, even if these color stories have been done before. Lisa knows exactly what she's doing and has been very thoughtful about her products and formulas thus far. Even though $68 is extremely steep, there are people out there buying other pricey, luxury makeup that doesn't seem nearly as thought out as this release. To each their own, right? To me, her pricing makes sense (as much as it hurts my wallet) for the quality that you get. Can't wait for my Vega and Sorcery palettes to arrive!
I agree with you. Paying high prices for make up is acceptable for me when the quality is worth it, but I'll be damned to pay that price for some luxury name and packaging, when the quality or the concept isn't very good.
Dear Lisa, please include empty palettes so those of us who can't afford 2 palettes can customize one too. Sincerely, a person who feels quite deeply about green powders 🍏🥦😌
Perhaps buy one and keep your singles in a separate container? I do agree it would be nice to have the option.
I asked about this on instagram too, and Lisa said they'd consider it. But I really hope they do, I don't want to have to just have shadows I don't need laying around that I had to take out in order to make the palette custom.
@@evamuhlhause I don't want a blue shade or others I won't wear, I don't want to resell the extra shades, I don't want to buy another empty palette for the extras, you can see how just a few reasons can be enough to deter someone.

@@nailinthefashion Her actual reply was "There's no empty ones yet but the 5 curated ones are interchangeable and refillable", I looked up to check. So it sounds like maybe it's lightly planned? But for me like, I liked Vega but even if the formula is nice I don't need a 9th black eyeshadow personally, I'm just a casual user, so yeah I really wish the custom option had been there from the start. She also replied to another customer asking the same saying "there won’t be any empty palettes with this collection, I felt it was nicer to launch with curated palettes - more of which are coming next year! You can use the individual shades to interchange and customise the palettes and make them more personal". But given they went out of their way to talk about making the palettes "sustainable" and "refillable" it also disappoints me that like...if you want to put the shades in an actual palette of hers, you may need to buy one with shades you won't use currently...
I purchased Myth. I have been wanting a purple leaning palette for the longest time, but a sophisticated color story, that could be worn every day. Myth hit the mark. After watching LEs Launch tutorial, I could immediately tell that these formulas were super high-quality, so for me the purchase was easy. As far as not being able to fully customize the pallet, I understand the frustration with that, but for me personally it is very difficult to put together cohesive and complete color stories. I always end up with a mishmash of the colors I like best, but don’t necessarily work well together. I think the color stories LE has offered in this launch are comprehensive and will appeal to many.
Personally, I am happy that Lisa's launched finalized palettes--I see her style, experience, and vision in each palette, plus she is pushing a part of her audience to a completely stylized look and I adore it. I have seen so many great ideas fall short because people do not follow through with the completion of their initial intent but Lisa did--well done! :)

I can honestly say the eye makeup look you made in this video is so incredibly gorgeous. Sorcery is a color story that scares me too but you made it work. I can’t wait to see you play with the blue eyeshadow. I can understand why Lisa reached out to you to send you her makeup. What an honor. I could totally see you wearing myth actually, that really suits you. Do you not have dupes? I think I remember you saying you don't have a ton of eyeshadow.

I can loosely recreate Myth between my Byredo and Guerlain palettes and one other single I have, which is how I've managed to tame the desire of wanting something new with this release. Of course, having all the shades in one gorgeous and sleek compact that adds to the temptation, but I can't see myself pulling the trigger knowing I own similar shades. ❤️

Oh helllll yeah! I am awaiting delivery of Myth and Sorcery plus a few singles pulled from Muse and Cinnabar. I’m flipping the flip out.
I think the idea that you touch on that there are different levels of makeup enthusiasts is so important. And different things that people want their makeup experience to focus on. Some people want the variety and some people find comfort in familiarity and some people want a mix of mostly staples with a little bit of out of the box fun for the days when they want to play with their look a little more.
I really like that she grouped the neutrals and grouped the more colorful shades into their own separate color stories and didn’t do a “brown with a pop of blue/green/hot pink”. Not that she would, but it just makes me love her all the more.
So for some consumers paying $68 for six eyeshadows isn’t going to give them the variety that they want and for others it’s a great price so that they can either get a palette of staple products or a palette of fun shades for when they want to play with color.
Lisa is Classy like that, yes! Am I jealous of her sending you palettes? YES. 😅 I purchased ALL palettes for my kit and still patiently waiting for them….I’m so glad you review them well, they certainly deserve it! I love her foundation and highlighters, Lisa can do no wrong. Thank you for this, oh what fun!

I received my Sorcery pallete & tried it before I saw this video. I was kind of disappointed 😢. But then you mentioned that synthetic brushes would work better. So I tried again this morning and you're ABSOLUTELY correct. So much better!! ❤️ 🙏 ❤️

As an mua who works on set, the color stories make absolute sense for a working makeup artist, especially on sets. I sometimes feel i need to carry SO MANY palettes to create a texture for the look for the photoshoots so when she launched these i thought i know EXACTLY how she feels. So many times i wish i can just pull a shadow or two from different palettes to create the perfect look on set. I remember i once used 5 palettes (i believe 7 shadows) for a graphic wing liner on set so i truly get the decision from her end.

Sorcery was absolutely my girl, and inexplicably was the first (and only so far) to sell out, Lisa is pure magic and made those intimidating colours approachable - I’ll be setting my alarm for the restock for sure.
I heard from another beauty reviewer that Lisa Eldridge is not likely to restock these palettes this year. too bad I missed out on the Sorcery palette. So unique to my collection, hope they restock next year!
I own two eyeshadow palettes - both Gennude purchased at TJMaxx for cheap. I would WAY rather buy one of these palettes over the Mario/Anastasia etc. An expertly curated palette is WAY more appealing than a gazillion colors that only a few I will actually use on a regular basis.

Great review. I’m really looking forward to trying these. Ive also bought the myth and vega palettes. I feel like the reason they haven’t offered the palette to be fully customisable is because it’s Lisa’s colour stories you are purchasing. I feel like it’s fair, it’s an artist’s vision on which colours will work together, and as a consumer, I like the idea that all the colours will work with minimal decisions for me. Looking forward to the next look!

I had held off on purchasing a pallet because of my budget but during your video I realised I couldn’t cope if I missed out so have just bought Muse. And Velvet Muse is my favourite lipstick of hers, or anyone’s. The one sad thing is I can’t get her foundation to work on my skin. I don’t really know why and I will keep trying. I'm interested in these, but I agree that a customizable palette would be best. Mainly because its an awkward number of shadows. A 4 pan is easier to commit to because you can tell straight away if the shades are going to be useful, where a 12 pan gives you the freedom to have 1 or 2 duds. 6 pans can be inconvenient if all the shades don't work perfectly for you, in which case I'd rather just have purchased 4. I live in London so my hope is that she will at least introduce this option for in-person purchases soon...🤞

I agree! Initially I was disappointed with how "basic" I thought they looked but this review shows how much deeper this release is! Lisa Eldridge stop taking my money!
Was surprised to see how small VB palette is but it’s actually more product (.3 oz) than the LE (.19 oz) , not that it stopped me from ordering cinnabar and Vega. Lol. There were a few i liked from the other palettes but not enough to purchase or justify the pans $. Hopefully she will eventually have a build your own style for the same $
Interesting that you didn't experience fall out from the shadows. Yesterday one of the make up artists at Lisa's pop up did my eyes with the Sorcery palette and there was so much fall out, from a couple of different shades (the dark teal and at least one of the shimmery ones). Not just on application either; even after we cleaned up the initial fall out and re-applied foundation, I got a case of sparkle face.
Maybe because of the brushes used? Or maybe my face is somehow immune to the Lisa Eldridge make up unicorn fairy dust magic? 😥

I just got Cinnabar, and tried it this morning. There was virtually NO fallout!!! I love the feel of these shadows!! I also got Myth, but now I think I'm going to have to invest in sorcery, which is now out of stock!! I'll have to get the singles :-),
I’m having such a hard time getting any pigment w these palettes and I’m using Sonia g brushes. What brushes did u use. So hard to build up color
@@makeupjunkie723 I used BK brushes. I just swirled lightly, and picked up good pigment. Not too much, so I dipped in twice for each eye.

i bought MYTH and I LOVE IT!!!
Sorcery is going to be completely out of my wheelhouse. I’m looking forward to playing with it, though. That was the one risk I took with my order. I know I will use Vega (Smoke & Mirrors will come off as a true cool toned gray on me) & Myth to death but I have green eyes and don’t wear blue or green shadows. Lisa has surprised me and pushed me out of my comfort zone when it comes to her lipsticks because she does such a great job on the undertones. I’m hoping to have a similar experience with the Sorcery pallet. I already know I’ll love the lipstick. I wore something similar in the 1990s.

When I read the title and saw the palettes you would be reviewing I thought: Weird, those are not the ones I thought she'd buy. And then when you said those were PR and you had already bought Myth and Vega I smiled and said out loud: Now that's more like it! That's the Kackie I know! :P I also bought the Myth one and I didn't buy the Vega yet because I wanted to watch some reviews and see how Myth performed. I did buy Mercurial as a single, though, because since it has a purple base, I thought I'd pair beautifully with Myth.

Love the palettes. Can’t wait till mine arrives! Also, do TH-camrs find themselves when they are doing their own makeup in the mirror that they’re turning products towards the nonexistent camera? Lol I’ve always wondered if it changed how you did makeup off camera. 😂 like “who am I showing this to?!”

Ughhh, I tried to get mercurial as a single but it was already sold out before & I just couldn’t justify two palettes & the sorcery colour story wasn’t the one that spoke to me the most.

Did you use synthetic brushes for these palettes or goat hair ? My Sonia g brushes are barely picking up pigment for the cinnabar and myth palettes.
I guessed that HLP also ordered Vega and Myth and HLP neither confirmed or denied if those were indeed the palettes she purchased. Might there be a collaboration of videos coming our way?!
Me, a textured eye person, perked up in my seat when you talked about Sorcery, which was already one of the ones that tempted me the most (the other was Myth). I hope she will release empty palettes so I can mash up those two sextets (that's the word right??) To have the perfect green and purple colorstory
