    Hey Jack, this is a fantastic video and I’m gonna get that Keene 140! I appreciate your professionalism and expertise in dry washing for gold. God bless you my man! Oh, that dreaded green dot can be erased if you put it in the sun and it disappears! Just in case you didn’t know.

      Also check out the Keene 160 and 190 series ‘dustless’ drywashers, might be better than the 140S.

    A lot of people I know that have the 140,s extend the legs so the don’t have to clean out underneath so often

    I got the same unit but did a lot of mods. Did not like those flat Al side rails down in the riffle tray. They just add more useless stuff to the concentrates. Filled in over top with ramps using some cement mix so material is forced down to the riffles and air flow carpet. Upgraded fan and added extra removable shaker (small orbital sander).
    Run my material 2 to 3 times and final run the concentrates. I prefer puffer as it uses less power, can run for hours on the battery.

    That's why I like my smartwatch. Sometimes the area can send misleading messages and the watch has an altimeter and I use it frequently to study the direction of the washes by reading the elevation changes. I believe the pitch of the grade is just like that of the drywasher. It's overkill, but what the heck. If you have it, use it.

    Large washes can be more productive, if you find a place where the bedrock comes up close to the bottom of the wash.

    Great info Jack. The 140 needs a plate so the material coming out of the hopper doesn't ruin the screen, so they fixed it with the 140S model?

    When dry washing is my only option in mid and late Nevada summers and most of my claim's gold is gold dust (and not much, at that), how do I improve the gold recovery from the two modern dry washers I'm currently using? There's got to be a better way.

    • @GoldFeverAdventures
      @GoldFeverAdventures  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Lower the speed of the motor. You want just enough to move the dirt down and out. Run tray flat as possible. Rule of thumb is 3” drop per foot of sluice. Judge from there. Then increase air until the dirt moves off.

    Another great video Jack. I try to catch them all. Not a lot of gold here in Tx. at least not the shiny kind. I'm curious about an ultra light dry washer that is suitable for backpacking. I think it was a bellows style and seems like it was named Whippet? Not sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

    • @GoldFeverAdventures
      @GoldFeverAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Whippet was a Drywasher that was introduced about six years ago in the proto type stages. I never seen any out on the market and have heard nothing since. I would of liked to get my hands on one. The Thompson is a light weight but not in production anymore. Look for used units.
      The only place in Texas for fine gold is the plaino river. Look for the gold bearing sign whenever your out because you just never know. It had to get in the river somehow.
      Thanks for watching.

      @@GoldFeverAdventures Hey! Thanks for the reply!! I'll keep an eye out on used equipment. The wife and I really enjoy y'alls videos. My oldest son just bought a piece of property in Llano last year and there is a smidge of super fine flour gold that's been found very near his river property. I'm eager to do some crevicing and panning. See what's there. Thanks again for your helpful information. Y'all are amazing folks!!

      @@toobzombe John in Kingsland, Tx there is a camp called Long's Camp and he would allow people to prospect. Unlike parts of the western US Texas is mostly private property which really limits access.

    I have never seen metal stick to static electricity. electricity flows freely in metal.
    haven't had any luck with metal detectors, so I thought I might try dry washing.
    Only way to make money with prospecting in get others interested in doing the labor and then sell them stuff.
