I praise and thank God that He created LBM, with its beautiful emphasis on God as love and with the gift of the brilliant communicators who have persuaded we once-stale SDAs to fall in love with God finally.
We need to change the story we are telling ourselves. ARISE taught me this and it is life changing. People are so bound by old theology and practise and it is depressing. Dive into a deep relationship with Jesus and His peace will be yours.
He lied. Deflected from the truth and gaslit you. Dr Walter Martin in the 1980’s changed his opinion of sda and labeled them a cult. Sda do not follow the Gospel of Jesus. They deny his finished work of atonement at the cross. This is basic Bible and salvation doctrine and Sda says Jesus is wrong.
Young people leaving the church is "a symptom of lack of discipleship".... As a young person in the church, I can only say, "yes, yes, yes, this is true." By the grace of God and the gift of a godly mother, I have become grounded in what I believe. But I see a massive lack of discipleship and mentoring in the church and young people leaving out of disgust for the shallowness and hypocrisy they see. We young people want mentorship, we want to understand why we believe things, we want to wrestle through our beliefs in relationship with mature Christians who care about us and glow with the love of God, we want to live bold and faithful lives grounded on the reasons for our faith.
Houses collapse when built on sand, and it doesn’t get much sandier than SDAism. Those who leave the movement either find the Rock ☦️ or are lost to the endless sands of this world. May the exit of all those sincere lovers of the Lord Jesus Christ increase exponentially and the SDA movement be forever lost to the memory of mankind.
On the issue of God's sovereignty according to Calvinism, when pain hits the Calvinist (i.e. something very painful impacts their life) they'll change and become open to reconsider their belief.
A significant evidence of the Sda church not being a cult is the profound diversity of viewpoints opinions and ideas within the body of SDA believers. The church does not have the imprint of one persons mind.
Another mark of a "cult" is that cults try and interfere in and dictate every aspect the lives of its adherents. For instance, a friend of mine was a JW. He bought himself a classy sports car and the elders told him that he had to sell that impressive car and buy a more humble-looking vehicle. He complied..
Sorry to say this but it’s true. Regarding the question on Adventism and cultish traits I can say from personal experience that people leaving are leaving Adventism after deep Bible study and learning we have SERIOUS issues on how we interpret scriptures. I am saddened to hear the assumption that those that are questioning Adventism are not “grounded” in scripture.. it’s the opposite those questioning sought to find biblical arguments for doctrines like SOP, remnant church and IJ.. and couldn’t. Historically we are in trouble with dates we’ve applied to prophecy that have been proven false.. so much more. I hope my comment isn’t deleted, both my family and I have been impacted by DA’s ministry but we must follow God’s word first not a denomination and all must withstand test of scrutiny. Praying for you all.
I studied my way out of the SDA church for the very reasons you stated. What I read in the Bible didn’t match the SDA doctrine. I decided to follow the Word of God, Jesus, and not some self proclaimed prophet and her teachings that not only contradict the Bible but in the end made satan your savior. All the while denying the finished work of Jesus at the cross.
Ahhh! I missed it! I would have loved to ask all of you guys if you could share some insight from the Book of Judges. In regards to the story of Ehud. In contrast to the story of Jonah. I am trying to understand and looking for some clarity. Please elaborate on these stories. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
As for some of those weird stories in the book of Judges (such as the one about the father who killed his daughter so as to keep his vow to God) there is a verse near the start of that book which frames such stories: the Israelites had wondered far from God and entered into a spiritual darkness in which they did what seemed right to them - in their ignorance and darkeness.
Very sad, Ty thinks that a scholar like Walter Martin who wrote Kingdom of the Cults and was instrumental is dialog with Adventists the produced the book Questions on Doctrine is not a scholar and simply ignorant is pathetic. When people like Ty say that Adventism is orthodox then Ty is the one confused. It is not funny how little knowledge these "light bearers" are. I have to add this because Ty's answer is avoiding the question. The question was "and mocks the 1:21:57 Cosmic conflict Motif as heresy." It is not from the Bible so you are not going come to some biblical agreement on something that is not even in the Bible.

This is so good. All of these edifying sessions are fantastic. Praise God for this mission.

I love what you are doing and praise God for your ministry!
I really enjoyed this session and have been immensely blessed by the Arise program. I appreciate your ministry so much!
I LOVED this! One of the best ones I've seen. Thank you.
I loved David's response to the cult question. He was right on point 💯

“Unbelieve the gospel momentarily “ Pastor David
Person: “oh, David, you’re in a cult.”
David: “uh ok! Have a great day!”

The father did not kill the daughter. She was the first example of a nun in the Bible. People visited her from year to year.
@@Tm91studies I'm happy to learn that the father didn't murder his daughter after all.

why are you named after lucifer?
We’re NOT a cult but some just look and act like cult members…
You’re not but the sda church as a denomination is. Not all churches in sda are but the church as a whole is.
I’d love to know which podcast this is! That called SDAism a cult.
