Problem is that when they garnish your wages, they hit you for the entire amount of your debt plus court costs. They then take 25% of your wages every paycheck. That's way more than the payments would have been. You might get lucky and only get a lien on your house if you own one, so as long as you never sell it, you won't have to pay. Your estate will, though.
You can go many years without having to pay the debt back, so you can at least delay it a long time.
Oh, and then there is the levy of your bank account. They will wipe out every penny you have, no matter how much it is. You can petition the sheriff's office to get it back, but you will still be out at least a hundred or so in fees.

I knew a spoiled little brat in college whose parents had been doing his homework since high school because he couldn't keep up with the material. But wait, there's more. . . One of our classmates just got a new MacBook (back when they first came out and were super expensive). We were all in a study group and this entitled brat is just sitting there bored because his parents do all his work so he doesn't understand what is going on. He doodles all over our classmate's MacBook with a permanent sharpie just because he's bored. My classmate is someone who's had to work for everything in life and that MacBook is his prized possession. We all freak out on this spoiled dumb rich kid and he doesn't understand why everyone is mad. He tells our classmate that if it's that big of a deal that the classmate should just go buy a new laptop.
Happy ending- eventually the spoiled kid got expelled because he was turning in A+ work but the work and writing style did not match up on tests and they were able to prove it wasn't his work.

A girl once asked me if my hair was naturally short. I didn’t even know what to say, her sister roasted her for minutes and I still don’t think she understood why is was dumb to ask.
It is possible to have naturally short hair if your hair growth cycle is very short, but I doubt she knew that. My hair will not grow past my shoulders even if I wait years. It just won't. Hair follicles naturally release their strands and rest before starting a new one, and my follicles naturally just give up every six months or so. If it grew faster or for a longer period, I could grow it out longer.

Two guys were in a car with other 'friends' when the passenger leaned out the window and shot a couple people on the sidewalk, instantly killing them. The driver speeds off, drives for a bit, and then stops. The driver, shooter, and others in the car run immediately, but these two guys sit still because they didn't do anything wrong. However, when the cops arrived and asked them what happened, they said "I aint no snitch!" They didn't even deny shooting the people. Even in prison, they didn't realize how stupid they were and just thought the system was just against them. The other guys from the car were never caught (at least for that crime).

I had this “best friend” from the age of 5 to 12. I was always a nerd and she was always a popular-type. I was always having to explain jokes to her and questions etc. So, when she was in the process of ditching me for popularity but still using me for company, I clocked it and decided to have some fun with it.
One of my favourite gags was when we were in geography, looking at a map in a textbook and the “best friend” complains that she can’t see the names of the countries (it was cities in our own country but ok) so I tell her to do the zooming motion and it will zoom.
She spent 15 minutes trying to figure out why the paper wasn’t zooming.
Those were the best 15 mins of my life.

Most of the time they must think your friend is trying to troll them, which should be totally harmless.

A friend of mine accuses me of being jealous of her when she studies. She says I get insecure when she works towards her academics. I've got 10 and 15 percent more than her in the past two acdemic years. ( Which is a LOT for medical college.) For those who don't understand this grading, it's like I'm at A plus while she's at C or something. I don't understand how to tell her that you can't be jealous at someone who's so arguably less successful than you, without hurting her feelings.
Don't tell her, just be happy with the knowledge that you know better, and she can be happy with thinking in her own way.

Tell her, hurt her feelings, but then you have spoken the truth, she'll either accept that, argue it and concede or argue and remain ignorant. *This may damage or strengthen your friendship* however the truth is often the best medicine, unless it's a terrible truth that need not be spoken of.

@@justanuff Thanks for this reply, but she's my roommate and I'm gonna have to spend the next 2 years with her constantly. Also, she exactly means jealousy related to academics. I think she herself jealous at me for getting such good grades and so much damned attention for it. And as the saying goes, liars think all others are lying, and insecure people make other people feel insecure.
Medicine comes naturally to me, I don't even have to work hard to secure the grades that I do. I don't think she takes this fact lightly, as she has to study a lot, still can't score well.
Also, I've heard her talk about other people like this as well. She's really paranoid about people being jealous at her for studies when the fact is that it is the other way round.

To be fair thats not like 100% dumb, if you put giant mountains on one side of Earth it could stop or greatly reduce the flow of air on the other side. So hypothetically if you made millions of billions-tons-each wind turbines it could "use up all the wind" ie stop it. In that context wind would be a limited resource.

I don't really understand how American plugs for example seem to simply completely lack an earth cable. Why would you not use an earth? Even if you do have a "double insulated" appliance it's still an extra safety feature with no downside that I can think of.
I read online that American plugs these days tend to have three now anyway? Is that true?
