Love the KB profiles. I have actually just used them in my own home and they are extremely beautiful. Huge thank you to NS Builders for introducing me to KB. ... and ... First. :)
Full range of finger joined profiles not available locally, it would be like comparing apples and oranges. 10/10 would use again. Replaced all trim on 1st floor of modern colonial for less than 5k. Not standard install with some highly custom application.
I'm loving this whole project. I pass by the site regularly on my way to certain clients and I parked on one of the side streets a few weeks ago, so I could have a better look. As I was admiring the front and getting a nice in-person look at the front elevation, Mike happen to be walking by on the sidewalk and we engaged in a short but friendly conversation. I will say to you what I said to him. You should be very proud of this project, it is amazing work you and your team have done, and it will add a tremendous amount of beauty and value to the community in which it has been built.
I think the mirror behind the door is a wonderful idea. I am trying to think of a way to include that in an upcoming bathroom remodel. You won't have yourself looking back at you unless you want to. Brilliant!
Love the channel and how it goes into details of carpentry. I think workmanship of it is never shown like the way you explain it. A lot of small details are express on this channel and that’s a plus!
Would be nice if in a future episode you went into detail about painting; what brand you use, how many coats, sprayed/brushed, what primer...etc. great work as always.
@@NSBuilders I have not used them yet. But I have seen a lot of them in person at Brent’s office. They are so nice. Like everything you said in the video. The deep cuts and shadow lines.
Great video. About to start trimming out a house which requires a stool to be attached to jamb extensions. The supplier advised me to attach the stool to the extension by dropping the stool down 1/8” and then just nailing the stool to the extension. Said this would prevent cracking along the line if I attached the stool flush with the top of the extension. Thoughts?
What adhesive are you using on the window trim miters? It looks "thick" and was wondering what the setup time is with the clam clamps. I've used Infinity PUR for a quick setup, the the clams and traditional glue when needed.
I think the hidden mirror is the first time I've ever said that's stupid about something in an NS Builders video. There's a lot that I don't like personally, but I've never called it stupid until now.
Personally I think it's brilliant. Seeing your full reflection in the mirror from the bathroom doorway or while otherwise using the restroom would be jarring. At the same time, it's really nice to have a full length mirror. This gives the best of both worlds.
That's some good quality work. Hopefully your carpenters are getting paid good because most people don't take that much time to do all that work and won't achieve those high results simply because they would spend way too much time.
@@NSBuilders For sure. I just know what they pay where I live for a full trim job and am betting you guys are getting paid much more if they can afford to take their time like that :)

You're welcome. It's our go-to
How do they price up when compared to your traditional lumber dealers stock poplar preprimed?
Very competitive

Thank you breaking down that window, its exactly what i've been looking for and explained perfectly.

Thanks so much man, appreciate the support and you chatting with Mike, he's a rockstar.
Top notch and impeccable attention to detail as always Nick, thanks for sharing!
Thanks!

Exactly, mirrors are usually installed for utility.
Love the hidden mirror linen closet detail, and every over detail you guys do!
Thanks!

Love the idea of using the Schluter in the laundry room!
Key detail
@@NSBuilders Thoughts on why you didn't install a floor drain?
So clean dude I love it
Thanks man. Have you used the Kuiken profiles?
@@NSBuilderswow. When the master, Richard, brags on you, you must be doing something right!! A stated above, good clean work!

@@FinishCarpentryTV Amen! Let me know if you want to come hang in Boston, happy to let you try it out!
@@NSBuilders that would be awesome! Thank you!
Yes! That stool extension is done the same way I like to do it too
Solid
Any concern with a crack forming along the line where the stool meets the extension?
Great work! ESP on the trim!
Thanks
The best choice for water control in any room is a strategically placed floor drain. I use ceramic tile baseboards in wet ares.

Millwork is eye candy for me 👍📐🇨🇦
Same, check out Materia Millwork TH-cam for more.
Would you put a stool on a floor to ceiling window with the bottom jamb about 5 inches from the floor??

so what is the difference between a window sill and a window ledge....
What product do you use to fill in your nail holes?
I’m looking for ways to get rid of as much trim and profiles as possible 😊
Man, the details are so awesome.
Appreciate it.
beautiful.
o men, i wish i can talk like you. good video.
What are the corner clamps being used on the window trim?
Clam Clamps

@@definitely_not_a_robot Our thoughts exactly.
@@definitely_not_a_robot I think opening a door that goes to no where is kinda jarring 😆
You could go to Costco and fill that space up with toilet paper!
A bit surprising that in a house that big the two bedrooms don't have en suite bathrooms. Maybe it's smaller than it looks? The millwork is awesome.
Every bedroom does, with the exception of the two back bedrooms that the boys will share.
Shrinking in the winter? I assumed it was summer with heat and moisture loss? Love the amount of detail you guys go to on your jobs 👍

Nah. Doesn’t matter what side it’s still a sill. Idc what anyone says 😂
Doorways look narrow, maybe just because they're so tall?
doors are all tall and plenty wide.
white trim and white kitchens are so dated
Lots of “dated” details, but not all white kitchens are created equally. Nor will this kitchen be white
looking forward to seeing it. not in this case but so i see so many caulk and paint to cover up sloppy trim work.
Wait a few years. Styles always go in and out of fashion.
