Coromon feels more fleshed out in the battle department, as well as the dungeon design. However, Nexomon's overall art style pops out more in a beautiful way, and the story is awesome. I love both of them, honestly.
I preferred Coromon based on what the demo has shown so far. Although I do enjoy the thrill of Nexomons story and think it benefits from having more fleshed out and concrete characters. Even if they are fairly trope-ish, it comes off feeling earnest. I enjoyed them both in the end though, at least so far
I really appreciated how Nexomon turned a lot of the monster taming tropes on their heads, it's a fascinating story. Coromon has yet to grab me in a way that other monster taming games haven't already.
I hope Coromon gets the recognition that it rightfully deserves
I can't believe I never found this channel before as I love all monster raising games. Only things missing are Tamagotchi, Dragon Quest/Warriors Monsters, and Spectrobes.
Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 on gbc and the Japanese 3DS remake are some of the best monster games I've ever played.
I've been a big fan of the Nexomon series, but never really given Coromon a look because I try to avoid unfinished things. Story is by far the biggest draw for me in these games, too, so I'm very happy with Nexo. I'm pretty curious now though! I may have to check out the demo!
I kinda wish they'd bring back Micromon too, but I think there's a rights ownership issue there

Waiting for Coromon to come to switch. Played both Nexomon games and enjoyed them but looking forward to Coromon more because I like nuance in battle system more than most other things in monster tamers. I'd go for games on Steam but my PC is not working and I don't have funds to replace it at the moment.
Coromon might be a game that introduced me to monster taming
Back when I didint had switch I searched for pokemon alternatives on play store and one caught my eye
And after I downloaded coromon I instantly feel in love with it
Both Nexomon games were really fun and had amazing stories. I didn’t try the Coromon demos but I’ll defiantly get it on the switch once it comes out (yes I’ve finally bought a switch and I got the OLED model too lol)
Honestly, I feel like Nexomon community isn't as active due to a lack of PVP. I've been really thinking about trying to build a fan-made Nexomon equivalent of Pokemon Showdown to satiate the itch.

can't wait for coromon to be full released. I enjoyed both Nexomon, especially extinction! it was so fun and epic!
I still have to finish Nexomon Extinction, but I really enjoyed both games in the series, and Extinction addresses some of the issues I've had with Pokemon in recent years, while falling short in a couple other areas. The lack of multiplayer doesn't bother me though, as I primarily play these games by myself anyways. Coromon looks great too, but I'm waiting on the full release. I'll get it on PS4 if it comes to that. If not, I'll get it on Switch.
I'm playing Nexomon Extinction on Switch right now. I hope to have completed my playthrough before Coromon releases on Switch. I hope to be replaying both of these games in "nuzlocke" challenges, though, as I've been doing with various Pokemon games for years now! :D
only one of them is BUILT FOR NUZLOCK sadly coromon has no "custom mode" to speak of as of yet and frankly? Coromon has a long way to go, While nexomon is currently in developement of its 3rd title. In regard to these DEVS? THERE IS NO COMPARISON so take this video as a "try both of them please" from ed I think that was his intent here. Though it wasnt thought out well and likely will breed more seperation between his viewers than anything. Truth is Nexomon is simply the better title here and we will compare them leaving Coromon looking like less. THEY SHOULDNT coromon to be fair has NOT HAD THE SUCCESS OR FUNDING that Nexomon has and its assets in game look like crap if you compare them even at face value never having played either. DONT BE FOOLED HERE COROMON HAS THE MORE ROBUST MOVEPOOL SYSTEM AND MECHANICS even if its graphics are sort of shit.

Coromon for a more close like pokemon Mechanic except for Dual typing.
Nexomon Extinction for Great story, characters and artwork(Sorry have not played Nexomon 1).
If Coromon and Nexomon came together and had a baby they would make the Best monster Taming Game in this Genre
I leaned more towards Coromon beacuse of their Combat MEchanics being more relatable to Nolstagic but also more Detail and comprehensive.
Nexomon Extinction mechanics I didn't enjoy because all you do is attack, attack and attack. Which I got bored way too fast. But everything else was Exceptional.
Nexomon is a 9.5/10 for artwork and Design. Outstanding Vibrant Colours and I love the Characters.
My 2 fav (alternative to pokemon) games so far !
Alongside with Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth as well !

I'm playing Nexomon: Extinction right now and i'll play Coromon in the future.
One of the things i dislike about coromon is their artstyle; their monsters looks very grotesque... like a "flame bull" that remetes a meat or a mosquito helicopter thing, they are all creepy in a weird way.
Oh, and the black birds flying in the background looks like bats to me lol
Nexomon have their problens in the battle system and too many monsters to collect that turns the game very grindy as a negative result, but their art is prettier and the story is very long and cool.
A ideal game would be a mix of both, Nexomon and Coromon togheter would turn into the best game.
I played Nexomon Extinction and the Coromon Demo and love them both!
No dual-type and no plant-type is a huge weakness to coromon.
Coromon feels better so far with better puzzles, more strategy involved, and no having to complete the story to unlock new difficulty or modes

I loved loved NexoMon Extinction,now I'm counting the days for Coromon. Also i just beat Monster Sanctuary.
After playing through Nexomon Extinction for like the third time, I figured I'd give Coromon a shot. I'm not very far into it right now but I will say it's taking me much longer to get into than the Nexomon games did. With Nexomon it was pretty much instantaneous, I was hooked from the first twn minutes but with Coromon I'm a little undecided at the moment. I think I prefer the art style and monster designs of Nexomon, and the writing (though a little too fourth wall breaky at times) is really good and has a lot of charm, the characters feel a lot more fleshed out.
As I said, I'm still not very far into Coromon yet so I may yet have that Eureka moment and fall in love with it but it's definitely taking longer to love than the Nexomon games did. I do like the music and some of the monsters are cute, animations are a little slow but that might just be me playing it on Switch, random encounters seem a little more frequent even with the stinky coin equipped, I'm at the thunder cave at the moment and I'm not having a lot of fun with it but I'll soldier through in the hopes I start to like it afterwards.
I got 22hr in Coromon and been enjoying it on the Steam Deck even though it has a issue where it randomly locks itself at 15fps until you get out the game and back in. But the game itself is alot of fun so far thinking of doing a review on it later.
I personally prefer Coromon, but Nexomon extinction I did a full playthrough of and it's also really awesome. If you want plot, I'd go with Nexomon.
I played Nexomon and Exctinction. Coromon definitly looks interesting too tho and I'll definitly try it out when it's coming to switch!
i enjoyed both the nexomon games and i am looking forward to coromon. i did also start playing monster crown but im struggling to get pulled in but i really want to get into it

I have both nexomon games on switch and want coromon for switch too. I am excited for it to release
I prefer Coromon’s battle system and the “potential” system with the different colors. Very cool. I feel like Coromon has more consistently well designed monsters where Nexomon has quite a few bad design. Nexomon could get away with having a lot less monsters and focus on making them better designs. I did enjoy the writing and the story of Nexomon better though. The humor with the plot twists really took the experience to the next level. It has better writing than any Pokémon game I can think of (which isn’t saying a lot, but still). They’re both super fun games that are a must play if you’re a Pokémon fan.
Coromon fan here. Coromon is the main reason why I discover this youtube channel. I already check Nexomon, its good but I prefer Coromon.
Frankly, the lack of multiplayer and the mobile game art style are deal breakers for Nexomon for me.
Mobile game art style only implies for the first Nexomon since it was made for mobiles and later got ported. Extinction was built from the ground up to be a PC/consoles game

Honestly im more into coromon despite it being a demo.
Things i love about Coromon.
1.Pixelated-It just gives me nostalgia when playing it.
2.Animated/Design-Same to nexomon it has Awesome animated Fakemons,And awesome designs.But coromons being pexelated adds so much to it.
3.Shiny system-I think i don't have to explain that coromons shiny system is just awesome.
Why do you call them "fakemons"? Coromon is not trying to be pokemon, nor does it pretend to be.

I think Nexomon is the better game currently overall, but we will see once we get a full version of Coromon.

Out of the two i prefer Nexomon but i'll probably pick up Coromon up for the Switch, i think Coromon not being on Xbox/Playstation may hurt it a little but should still be successful. Before Xmas i didn't have a Switch so i wouldn't pick up Coromon as my Laptop isn't built for gaming and prefer Consoles. Now i do have a Switch it opens up Coromon and Older Pokemon Titles i didn't play like Mystery Dungeon (Last time was the Nintendo DS). Also opens up new ones such as Legends Arceus. Temtem, i'll get it for Xbox in 2022.
The Nexomon games gives you really good value for what they offer and they tend to go on sales a lot so I highly recommend saving up for all 3 of these games

I think I'm gonna start by picking up Coromon. Doing it on switch, as it's lovely with the handheld stuff. And I LOVE competitive pokemon. But the official games have just become stale at this point.. sadly :(

I played og nexomon and found it not to my tastes but extinction seems like an improvement overall.
That said coromon sounds much more like my type of game so I'll be checking it out soon
Agree Nexomon one was (like Coromon is now) Not a very completed title and left me feeling that same way. That said, Nexomon Extinction has a robust post game and custom mode and a lot of feature richness that since the most recent updates? Makes it shine far brighter and with a FREE DLC to add even more than the 381 monsters we already have thats already more than 3x more to catch than Coromon in total (with the many coming to add to the 381 with the abysals update including more legends and NO SHINY LOCKS) I have to say there is no question Nexomon supported US as gamers especially shiny hunters and nuzlockers with the custom mode update comes lots of faith from us as players. For me who has took the time and integrity to look into both of these. There is a clear winner here. That said id like everyone to TRY COROMON AS WELL ITS A BIT BEHIND IN DEV STATE AND SO ITS NOT EVEN RIGHT TO COMPARE Coromon has a LONG WAY TO GO TO CATCH UP while Nexomon is funded and creating its third game title in the series now. Ed made a mistake deviding his own community in an attempt to merge it. Thats all lol
I can see your reasons but it looks like not enough monsters have the kind of deisgn I prefer in Nexomon.
As an example I think there was a ghost and that Mermaid I liked and my friend liked designs like that big bunny in pokemon, which is not my taste.
I think in the beginning I was faster a fan of Nexomon instead of Coromon, but you kinda got me to like Coromon more.
I guess for the right price I would like to play both and start with Nexomon 2.
Both Nexomon games offers great value for their prices but if you want they often go on sale so you can keep an eye on that
Nexomon even surpassed Pokemon wirh Nexomon extinction. Nexomon extinction was so godamn amazing and it did everything Pokemon fans have been begging the pokemon company to deliver in recent games
I like Nexomon better just because of the designs and simplistic gameplay, but the mechanics in Coromon are down pat, and I'm definitely going to get it when it releases.
I have a switch and that’s my only gaming console. I actually got the switch because of all the monster taming games…that and farm sims, won’t lie, lol. I’m going to download both demo’s but I am a bit more drawn to the art style of Nexomon, but we will see.
I will probably be picking up Coromon.
I don't know about Nexomon though. The lack of difficulty and depth are a big negatives in my eyes. Pokemon's lack of monster customization and basic strategy during battles was the main things that drove me away from those games. I haven't seen or read anything that suggests Nexomon offers more depth or difficulty than pokemon so I'm probably skipping it.
I recently bought Siralim Ultimate anyway so that should be enough monster taming for me for a while.
Extinction will give you a good difficulty level similar to gen 3 and gen 4 Pokémon
Bruh, Nexomon: Extinction actually has a plethora of difficulty options. Even the default mode has lvl scaling. It has more depth in some areas than Pokemon, though Pokemon has more depth in others. If you want a game with more dynamic difficulty though, Nexomon: Extinction may be your jam.
Played only nexomon will try the other later tho digimon survive is on my top priority if it managed to be released this year. Banco did plan for conference next month and ask us a question to be answered there about anything digimon so i kinda have expectation of release date for survive

For me, it'll come down to music and story.
I value both incredibly high when it comes to games and Nexomon does both music and story stupidly well it's nuts.
Hoping Coromon will top Nexomon for me.

You may have spelled it wrong for Cornomon, it's Chronomon with an h, something for an heads up in your video, even I seem to keep spelling it wrong sometimes, you could always edit the video in your own time or future preferences.
Does this game have level scaling? I played Nexomon and thought it had some cool things going for it but the same-iness of the mons coupled with the level scaling really killed it for me.
I love the art of both but the pixel art of coromon is just so charming. The combat on nexomon is very well done and so is coromons but coromons feels just a bit too slow. The story of nexomon is very engaging and I love the characters, but I REALLY loved the opening in coromon, I don't know why but the prologue engaged me so much into the world of coromon, but other than that I never really found myself drawn to any of coromons characters SO FAR..of course coromon has less monsters beacuse it's a beta so I think it's a bit pointless to compare that...you mentioned coromon would be competitive beacuse it would have PvP, I think that's a step in the right direction beacuse it worked so well for pokemon, whereas nexomon being single-layer also works beacuse of the story and the characters, overall I love both of the ganes and can't wait to play the full version of coromon

I played Coromon and finished it this past weekend. By "Finished" I mean that I completed the story.
There is still much more to do like get potent and perfect versions of each -> Things like that.
But I would have loved for some sort of Tournament type structure.
It just felt like I didn't use my team VS other "trainers" or whatever you call them, enough.
My favorite part of the game was the Mirror match, and that was because it was the most challenging battle in the game besides the Titans, maybe.
The game was fine... I was just a bit negative about the fact I could not use my team vs other teams more often and in more challenging fashion. Instead they had these random puzzles in the game which in some of those cases actually ended up being more frustrating than fun... Why not challenge me by giving me trainers to battle instead?

I think all Coromon is lacking is like visualization for the characters themselves. All the characters look like very very low quality sprites and have no faces or discernable details we can make out. I think they need like Mugshot images, Battle Images of Trainers.
They also need shorter heads.

My favorite thing about pokemon is its complex battles so i am picking up coromon on switch
I've only played Nexomon Extinction on PC and the battle system and mons were easily the weak part. Nearly all the Nexomon feel the same and sometimes you may find a slight upgrade but for the most part it's just the same thing over and over again both in terms of moves and stats. The lack of abilities and limited to monotype really hurts it. That said, I really like the art style, animations and humor the game has. Besides the crappy combat...which is a huge part of it, the game was good. Overall it ended up being mediocre.
I haven't played Coromon yet but it really doesn't look appealing to me. If you say they have abilities then it may be decent. I would like to see more battles that aren't 1v1 though.
What i like about coromon is like low mb pixelated and its just more calm?
Bested thing I feel Coromon has going for it is it doesn't have loot boxes like Nexomon. Who wants to play a game were spending money can make you much better rather then just playing the game...
I've played nexomon and nexomon extinction to finish and also played the demo of coromon until the end, for me coromon is way better than nexomon, from the mon designs that have more soul, to the moveset that more balance.

Well the devs are very different. One is well funded and established at this point with 381 monster and a dlc of EVEN MORE on its way, a custom mode to cater to Nuzlock and shiny hunters and WAY MORE STORY AND POST GAME CONTENT ETC the other has less than 150 monster (less than gen 1 of pokemon) none of thesze features or story elements or post game or custom modes. And its graphics are worse and it has a BETTER MOVE POOL DIVERSITY. So that 1 feature a better move pool diversity means Coromon has 1 SINGLE THING going for it atm IF WE ARE TO VS THESE GAMES IN COMPARISON? there is very little to HONESTLY compare and thats why Ed had to make this the type of video he did to try and convince himself and others these games are in someway equal. They are not and we do not buy that bs it is what it is, What he will likely do is get us all to bicker amongst ourselves and draw a divide between his viewers that will likely bite him in the ass as a creator. lol

I bought Nexomon & Coromon which should i Play first???
I loved nexomon but quit half way through after realising the combat is really simple and repetitive, you just don't have to think that much.

Coromon feels like it uses more outdated mechanics, such as random encounters in grass--a feature I hated in old Pokemon titles and am glad its modernized a bit in Nexomon where you can see exactly where there might be an encounter. Coromon also seems to appeal to a younger audience. Coromon saying their names like in the Pokemon anime is especially cringeworthy--you wouldn't hear a zebra constantly chant "ZEBRA!" every time. There's a reason Pokemon have actual noises as opposed to name-chants in the games.

I loved Coromon yet I hated Nexomon. I don't care about story, what I like is catching, training and bulldozzer through everything later, which sucks in Nexomon since you can't decide which monster you deploy before the battle, you need to switch monster after battle already started which decreases the xp each monster receives, not to mention doing so allows the other monster to attack first which decreases the monster you want to lvl up HP which means going back to heal very often.

the ladder part also isn't present in nexomon 2 btw :)
@@GymLeaderEd You can switch before the battle, not after. Coromon allows you to NOT have a main. If I encounter a fire monster I can throw in a water monster in Coromon. In Nexomon I can't do that
I need to have a monster as a main and that's the first monster I throw in, coromon I have the option to disable it, not in Nexomon 1 or 2.

yes but Coromon runs with 10- 64 fps... if u dont move the game drops to 10 fps down wtf... the game has a very big problem with his engine..
Nexomon runs perfect on 120 hz/fps very smooth....

I have played both and I'm looking forward to coromon, but nexomon is not doing it for me.
Nexomon has the better story, it is quirky and funny. That is the only point were it wins against coromon and most other tamer games. The Battlesystem is as you said to simple and one thing that bumed me out is the evolutions. When my monsters evovle I always look forward in what way they have changed. Have they simply becomme stronger? Do they have a different stat spreed? New Attacks or abilities? In Nexomon only the image changes everything else stays the same, that game does not need evolutions and they almost feel like false advertising.
I also found that the sprites for the mons, the environment, the characters all did not really fit well with each other as if design did not have enough of a common and well defined goal.
For coromon almost all of the above is not true.
I'm unsure about the story, especially after recent changes.
The Battlesystem seems fairly standart and the only disapointment is that it is 1vs1 as I came to enjoy 2vs2 and the resulting atack as well as abillity synergies recently. The desicion to have attack only typing is kind of interesting.
The monsters are very likeable and look as if they all fit the world.
Still I'm happy for more games in the genre even if it is one I do not want to play.
The monsters does becomes stronger upon evolving in Nexomon extinction but they don’t feel special because of how similar they feel to each other since the battle system is very simple

Nexomon is like a quick flash game that didn't polish it's battle mechanics such as moves, types, etc.
Coromon polished it very good and it's less cringey with it's story.

tbh, I could not complete nexomon story bc it was so boring battle-wise
the plot is above average, funny at moments but the abttles were so simple and boring that I found myself just forcing myself to next area to beat the game as fast as possible and drop it down completly

DAAAMM NEXOMON LOOKS Way better than Pokemon but it doesnt have multiplayer or a trade system Thats makes me Sad. Nexomon ART Style is a 10/10. Coromon looks more old school but because it has in depth combat system and more difficulty that Also makes it better for me. Im just looking for a game where I can play with people in the same world. Tem Tem does this but im not a big fan of only doing Double battles.

I would prefer Coromon for its super super similarly with Pokémon. Also the pixel art feels good.
Nexomon is definitely weak I'm terms of combat but for eye candy, it's damn good boi.

Nexomon graphic are better. Coromon has better gameplay with better moveset. Just want to see those indie companies go to the next level.

tried to get into nexomon but the writing was way too silly/dumb right from the start which really made it hard to get immersed or to take anything in the plot seriously, and I just lost any motivation to keep playing
