But there is his DNA that was found on the dead boy on places that puts Brech in very close (intimate) contact with the victim. Cause of death is undetermined. Abuse is likely but not proven.
Also my favourite tarp set-up! I also let the front flaps fall in and close with a Micro S-Binner and then block the small remaining gap with my pack. Very roomy, very stable, withstands well both winds and rain…!

As the price of tents go through the roof I see more and more people buying tarps for tents. Even cheep China tents are now over the 100$ price range. Tarps are the way to go.
This works with a cheapo rectangular tarp too. I have one set up in the front yard for my son to play in. You can tie the flaps opposite at night to make a smaller entrance. Helps a little with wind, then block the rest with your pack.

This man is Jos Brech, after a large scale DNA conduct he was found to be the head suspect of the murder of a young boy, Nicky Verstappen, back in 1998. When this DNA research was announced nationwide, he dissappeared while hiking through France and coincedentally the DNA found on the body of Nicky had a 100% match with his DNA (DNA of his family by the way because he refused to give a DNA sample). Yesterday he was found in Spain and he's currently in custody, awaiting to be handed over to the Dutch police. Anyway, he's not been convicted yet but considering the evidence against him... He's a child murderer... But hate the jerk not the work!

I like the options you have with a tarp and the feeling of connection with your surroundings but a tent sounds more windproof and bugproof. I think my best option is a tarp in combination with a net/bug tent for the tropics and in the summer. I do not like the idea of having to carry the support poles for a tent so I want to use a stick in the forrest and hikingpoles in the mountains.
Ersin Bogaerts When i go to the mountains i always take a small lightwieght tent from The North Face or MSR. In heigh winds i can strap them down very well. With a tarp tent this can be done only to a certain level and it is open on one side. For normal windy condition i used this tarptent in the open fields and in forested areas without any problems, and if you pitch it right there is also no rain coming in. If i know i will go to a bug infested area i sleep in my hammock and that has a osquito net. My tarp is then just going over as a roof.

@@jamessix60 You would need an overhead direct pull instead of a ridgeline. Ridgeline wont stay taut. tried this last night for over an hour didnt work.

Just wondering, do you know the dimensions of floor space this set-up provides? I am trying to decide whether to get a 3x3 or 4x4 for two people and kit. Cheers.👍
Hey Bob, I never measured the inner space from thgis setup. it also differs depending on how high you have set the pole. I will set-up the trap tent this weekend and will make some measurements for you. 2 persons with wintergear might be too small with a 3x3 DD tarp !

it is possible to close it up a little bit more by folding the flaps not to the side but to the front and tie it down with a line and tent pin. but 100% closed is not an option with this tarp tent

Hey, i do not know it exactly since i use a extendable stick easy to adjust to whatever lenght i need. It is around the 140 cm... it depends on how wide you make the entrance to the tarp-tent....

+oakleafNL Great video man. Don't listen to the haters. I've used this setup on the Appalachian trail a few times since I got my DD, and I love it. Even in bad weather this setup holds up quite well. just close the front flaps and you're good to go.
